Sellfish is somebody who just cares about his stats and doesn't care about the game, let alone his teammates. But those who ballhog to win are not being sellfish, they just want to win, they don't care about the points, they just think that they can come up with the win. I don't think Jordan cared about his 63, he lost. McGrady, just wants to win. Iverson, just wants to win. But I heard Ricky Davis missed a shot to get a rebound to complete a Triple double, now that's sellfish.
selfish player..selfish players..I'll have to make a list 1.Ricky Davis 2.Tmac 3.AI 4.At times Kobe Thats all I can think of right now. If it was 3 years back then I'd MAYBE put VC on the list.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Canada:</div><div class="quote_post">Peja</div> And why is that?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TMac_OwNz:</div><div class="quote_post">Sometimes I wish T-Mac could be more selfish.</div> You must not watch Magic games, he is very selfish at times. Anyways, why do I see Ricky Davis as the 1st guy of being selfish? I wouldn't say he's selfish as in shooting the ball too much, I would say more in attitude terms, thinking to his self "I'm the man". He only averages about 12 shots a game. That's not that much for a player like him, and he shoots 45% from the floor, not too bad.
[quote name='Purple N Gold']You must not watch Magic games, he is very selfish at times. QUOTE] He has to. No one else will make the shots so he does it on his own.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TimFlem:</div><div class="quote_post">He has to. No one else will make the shots so he does it on his own.</div> I don't know man, on many occasions I've seen him force shots, where he could have easily just set the offense up, and looked for a better shot. Every player can be selfish at times, even Kobe, I'm not gonna lie. Sometimes it can even be a good thing if the outcome is 2 points, but I prefer working it back out, setting everything up again, and play team ball.
jason kidd is selfish to try to get a triple double every game... rip yinka dare... the most selfish player with the ball is all time, Wilt Chamberlain...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fishball:</div><div class="quote_post">jason kidd is selfish to try to get a triple double every game... rip yinka dare... the most selfish player with the ball is all time, Wilt Chamberlain...</div> Well then that means Kobe was the most selfish last season because thats what he did all the time when Shaq was out :biggrin2:
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TMac_OwNz:</div><div class="quote_post">Sometimes I wish T-Mac could be more selfish.</div> hah yeah, I wish some good players would be more unselfish too. I wouldnt call them selfish, if they actually are good and can make the shot, but players like Marcus Fizer and Jamal Crawford just need to stop forcing some shots. Crawford is getting much better but Fizer just needs to STOP. The players who are too unselfish on the Bulls are Hinrich and Robinson... late in the game, I just wish they would stop passing the ball and take a shot for crying out loud... they have a better chance of making than Fizer.
In my opinion, the two most selfish players in the NBA today are Marcus Fizer and Jalen Rose (i know both have already been mentioned). Fizer has always been known as a "black hole" player...even today, I was watching the Bulls game and he got the rebound and dribbled it the length of the court and took it all the way to the rim (he scored)... Jalen Rose is selfish in the sense all he cares about is himself...He's too stubborn to accept the fact he isn't an NBA point, he doesn't get along with anybody who doesn't agree with him, and his shot selection is terrible... The most selfish act I've seen on the court in recent years was by Vince Carter...I think it was his second year in the league...a Raptor (I don't recall who it was) got a breakaway steal and which led to a 2-on-none break with him and Vince...instead of passing it to Vince for the spectacular finish, the player decided to take it himself...While running back down the court, Vince was visibly upset and was yelling at him as they got back on defense (I presume for not passing him the ball)...I couldn't believe it, I mean the guy deserved the basket anyways.
i nominate steve francis... dribble, dribble, dribble, don't pass, dribble, dribble, yao got himself open ignore him, dribble some more, can't create shot, shoot anyways and miss or throw it to somebody who now has one second to shoot. oh, and let's go to the superbowl. what, ther's a game? who cares.

I think he really is a selfish person too becasue i Went to see "Love Don't Cost a thing" and he sat right in front of me with his wife and daughter. He had the food all to himself and either his wife and kid weren't hungry or he wasnt sharing them.

Anyways, I don't know how T-Mac averages almost 6 assists pg. That's amazing in its own right. Kobe was in 2k1. A Walker use to me off with some of the 3's he took. Especially the one where he got the pass in the post and took it all the way back out for a 3 and brick. Couldn't believe he did that, why even bother to post up. Iverson at times makes my arms hurt when I watch him. Seen him hoist up 42 shots. Damn. Oh and Jordan averaged 8 assist 1 year. That was pretty amazing and dag I the only 1 one who thought that the Bulls won when he scored 63. Shoot I automatically assumed they won because of that feet, and it being a that 1 comercial with all the other greats.</font></font></font>
Wilt Chamberlain, any player that drops 100 points in a game has got to be considered selfish . Currently, i'd have to say AI. T-Mac is just as, if not more selfish than AI, however T-Mac has to be selfish because he has no supporting cast. Anyone remember about a month ago or so when AI was out for those couple weeks and the Sixers actually started playing like a team? Too bad they can't play team ball with AI on the floor. Also, pretty much any of the shoot first point guards in the league also top the charts as being selfish.

He, Keith Van Horn, Antoine Walker and NVE are my ballhogs. KVH, Walker and NVE can be compared with one another, they take such ridiculous shots, but at least NVE can make a lot of them. As for Ricky D, he's sort of like Stromile Swift or Darius Miles although Darius Miles is much better now, he has a lot of athleticism but is lazy and hogs the ball whenever he gets possession.
Glenn Robinson, Sam Cassell, Steve Francis...players who i'd definitely consider to be selfish... Jordan, Iverson and T-Mac are selfish in the aspect that they will do whatever it takes to win...and if that means they gotta do the job themselves, so be it...they are selfish in that they want to win more than anybody...

And that was the 01-02 season. The Big 3 started to go bad & all 3 members started to be selfish. Not just Sam. Its not to make any excuses but thats simply the way it was. Everybody puts most of the blame on Sam for the big 3 going bad but Ray Allen & Glenn Robinson had as much to with the negatives as Sam. The chemistry just went south but to list Sam as selfish & not list Ray is totally wrong imo.
