    Okafor

I saw the game today, OKafor had 14 points, 22 rebounds, 7 blocks. Unfreakinbelievable!!

We have to end this 2 game winning streak! We can't afford to win any more games! [IMG]

Hopefully we can get Okafor. I saw the statline and was life holy crud. I'd like to win a couple of games and go on a roll, just to show Tmac that we can win.

A couple of more updates on Mr.Okafor.

He led UCONN to a 75-74 win in OT at Villanova.

    He went 7-9 FG, 6 boards, 3 assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 17 points.

If you think that's impressive then you should see the boxscore for Tuesday's game:

He led UCONN to a 71-53 victory over St.Johns with 22 points, 18 boards and 2 blocks.

The guy is gonna be a monster.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Nobody in the country can change a game like that," Huskies coach Jim Calhoun said of Okafor, who played through back spasms. "He showed why he's the best defensive player in the country. Emeka Okafor comes along once in a lifetime."</div>

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"That was the best block I ever saw," Gordon said of Okafor's game-saving swat. </div>

Once the Tourney starts Okafor is gonna start getting the publicity(if he hasn't already) he deserves. Depending on how far he leads UCONN in the Tourney we could see another Carmelo performance.

Again, all I want for Christmas is Okafor in a Magic uniform!!

His 2 blocks came at potential game winning situations. The last play of regulation to force an overtime he blocked a layup and last play in OT to win he blocked the shot.

In Okafor's final home game, he led them to an 89-67 win over Seton Hall.

He went 11-15, 25 points, 15 boards, 4 blocks, 2 steals despite basck spasms.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"It was something to remember," he said of his final home game. "I was thinking of previous seniors and then it was my turn."</div>

Hope to see you in Orlando! lol

Today was UCONN's last game before the Big East tourney. Okafor didn't play much because of back pain.

I've been reading that many NBA scouts say this could drop his stock come draft day and could be a serious issue.

So maybe we don't need the #1 pick to get but then again, I don't want another player with back problems on our team. Hopefully this isn't anything serious but he's had this problem all year. He's been playing real well but is it worth the risk? We all know our luck with injuries.LOL

Scary thing is imagine what he could do when healthy.

I like Okafor, but draft him would likely send Drew Gooden back to the bench because Okafor likely isn't big enough to play Center at this level. Perhaps Okafor is a better prospect than Drew Gooden, but I still believe The Big Drizzle can be something special in Orlando. He played tremendous basketball when the trade for Mike Miller first went through, than he injuried his toe and was sidelined till playoffs. Playoffs came and he averaged 14 points and 12 rebounds per game, yet next season was benched.

If Okafor is drafted, and Drew Gooden does infact go BACK to the bench, Orlando basically gave away Mike Miller because they aren't utilizing the players they received in return.

But if the magic have an opportunity to get Okafor, I don't see how they can pass up on him...they would be fools if they did....I suspect they will initially try to play Okafor at the 5, but if that doesn't work out, then Gooden can get shipped out for a position in need (i.e. pg, C)....but there is no way that they will pick Gooden over Okafor IMO...if they can't co-exist, Gooden goes...

1st business is getting rid of Juwan. Then we can worry about this. Okafor has 7'2 wingspan, so that makes up for his height. He probably could play center in the East, then again, we thought Gooden or Howard could before this season. Knowing our management, we will draft Okafor and then bench him and not play him at all.(like our last few draft picks) I honestly think that if we drafted Amare Stoudemire or Gilbert Arenas(instead of Sasser), they wouldn't play on our team because of our management.

I still don't understand why players like Declerq and Juwan with no potential and can't get better play over young guys such as Gooden, Zaza and Hunter.

I hate it when people say that just as much as you hate it when people say "we". Who the hell cares? LOL

Don't you know? The Orlando Magic are owned by the fans and nobody else [IMG]

Well, the use of "we" was discussed before so just look here: http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14916

If the Magic was owned by the fans, man we would be better than now, IMO. I meant we as in the Magic.

It has been revealed today that Okafor has been playing witha stress facture on this back all year. Ouch!

I hope this isn't a serious injury that would linger him throughout his career.

Hopefully not. I really want this guy but if his injury is serious forget about it, not another Grant Hill.
