How good could the bulls & celtics be if they..?? didn't trade away all their best players!! it's so sad.. the bulls: elton brand, brad miller.. they could've been leading the bulls front court instead of those two scrubs in curry and chandler. wow. what a difference. a serious difference. ron artest.. look at how he turned out. amazing. and i saw him play a whole lot at college being in the big east and all, and i never expected this much out of him either. but the boy can play.. tsk tsk bulls. marcus fizer.. bust. they gave up on khalid el amin. trenton hassell.. good role player for minnesota.. or half decent.. but a role player nevertheless. jay williams.. ;0 lonny baxter, bust. travis knight jake voskuhl. jalen rose.. their best scorer. donyell marshall. . the freaking man! having elton brand, brad miller, ron artest, donyell marshall and whoever is pretty damn good for a starting line up!! too bad it never happened! dumb bulls. but apparently they are interested in anybody/everybody uconn has! --------- the celtics: hmm.. let's see.. ya later antoine. ;0 so there goes antoine and pierce.. who weren't far away from a nba finals appearance.. joe johnson was drafted to help the celtics score. then he got traded, of course.. and now he'll be the nba's most improved player. w/ the 3rd pick, the celtics take chauncey billups! alright, great pick! let's trade the ******! and out he goes.. and w/ the 6th pick in the same draft, ron mercer! holy, look at what we just got from last years college group! ron mercer and billups! what a bright future! never happened. and they've made a lot of stupid draft decisions over the years.. but so has everyone.. and never got that big man they wanted, and probably never will.. but when you could've had paul pierce, antoine walker, chauncey billups, and joe johnson as four of your starting five, you don't need a freaking awesome big man! and mercer off the bench.. (who put up good numbers w/ boston).. and of course they let go of rick fox.. who fits in well w/ the lakers.. and bruce bowen.. at least he has some rings now.. great defense.. great perimeter, tsk tsk. and tony battie.. who was their big man.. and damon jones.. who is shining off the bench in milwaukee this season.. and danny fortson, another big man.. who at least had some numbers in g.s.. and eric williams, creed, orion, who was good for that team.. stupid celtics. ---- i dont know why i did this thread. i dont like either teams. it's 5 am, and i'm bored. and i like to analyze why teams completely suck, so i did this. ;0. ok, i guess i do know why i did this thread. <font color="red"><font size="1">couldn't split the thread so i put it in both forums since it deals with two different teams - BN</font></font>
It would've been nice if the Bulls had Billups and Artest, awesome defenders, but their teams were lucky to have them instead. I was surprised that they gave up Brand, who'd they get for him anyway? Rick Fox and Bowen would be nice additions to both, they'd just bring some more balance and presence as an overall team. Battie is just great, he is a workhorse and can play really well. Like a poor man's Theo Ratliff. Although it was for the Bulls, would've been nice if the Celtics had Miller, they lack a very talented big man. Baker use to be that someone. I don't think Walker would've played well being in the Celtics, he plays much better and smarter in the Mavericks. Overall these were real great losses, they would've made you teams so that you were on the same level as virtually the Grizzlies and the Bucks, instead you're more like the Magic, Hawks, Sixers and Wizards.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting okaforever:</div><div class="quote_post">i think it was chandler for brand i believe? (not positive)</div> Yes it was. And someone else came with Chandler on draft day, the name escapes me though.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting twolvefan11:</div><div class="quote_post">Yes it was. And someone else came with Chandler on draft day, the name escapes me though.</div> Brian Skinner. The Chandler/Brand trade doesn't make me mad, Curry/Brand wouldn't have worked out,see Vintage's post
A fully fit Boston team will actually be decent next year. A big man rotation of LaFrentz, Mihm, Blount and Perkins... Pierce, Davis and Welsch at the swing positions... Welsch and Banks at the point. Add a reasonable first round draft pick, if they don't owe anyone anything.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting okaforever:</div><div class="quote_post">mihm isn't on the celtics.</div> Have you even watched a Celtic game the last few months?
yeah, my bad. i have fox sports new england. ;0 i thought he got shipped to atlanta in that deal w/ detroit and the c's.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting okaforever:</div><div class="quote_post">and welsch is white.</div> I'm confused, is being white a bad thing?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BigMemo:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm confused, is being white a bad thing?</div> LMAO. I guess it is since he's making it out to be such a bad thing. One question okaforever, did you hear of WHITE greats like Larry Bird, Jerry West and John Stockton just to name a few? I'm not saying Welsch could be as good as them, but damn, racism is not tolerated in America, and a Canadian like me knows that.
johnson, Billups, and mercer wouldnt have put the celtics anywhere close to being a contender without a big man. Doesnt matter how good your guards are you cant win it all without a post threat. Even the best guards are still lower percentage shooters than big men. brand is great. but curry is going to be better than miller if he doesnt get hurt.

Somehow I don't think the Celtics are banking on Jiri Welsch becoming Larry Bird... but he'll be an excellent contributor none the less. So, should Emeka Okafor not be drafted because he won't be the next Bill Russell? I don't understand what you're getting at...
What a perfect cop-out. You're pretty much implying there should be no white roleplayers. Say Jiri Welsch eventuates to a Brent Barry-esque standard of play. Should the Celtics let him go by virtue of his colour?
Please get back on topic, it doesn't matter what race you are. A white guy can be a good NBA player, look at Dirk. Get off the whole race and talk about the Celtics.
[quote name='okaforever']yes being white is a bad thing. believe me.. i love the nba.. i am white.. larry bird was the freaking last white god to ever play in the nba. i just don't think there will ever be anybody that will come remotely close to him.. there hasn't been one since he retired. not even CLOSE. QUOTE] So because Larry Bird was one of best white and suppodily the best white player to ever play, does that mean since Micheal Jordan is the best Black player to ever play then every other black player in the NBA sucks? your points where pointless and should be ejected from the board.
sorry, i made a nice reply, but some <strike>jerkoff</strike> deleted it. <font size="1"><font color="navy">Grow up - SD</font></font>
