nbadraft.net also has miami and cleveland as 8-9 picks, i think that both of them have a very legitimate chance of grabbing that 8th spot in the east. Actually i think taht cleveland will be in the playoffs ,and so do many nba analasysts.

I would want him to seek some college experience under Pitino for sure. He is someone who can develop him into a better player if just for one year only. He is not being rushed to turn pro like his buddy Lebron was, and that's better IMO. He will most definetely be a higher lottery pick if he sticks around for at least one to two years.

I think Telfair should go to college first also because what if a career endind injury occurs because he passed up college; if my knowledge is correct I am sure he cant go back to college. I think if Telfair is that big of a prospect like Lebron is they both could have went to college and then entered the league. Money is nice but an Education is better in my opinion.

Now if Telfair was drafted by Portland I dont see him getting into trouble as qouted by Qrich

Some youth at point gaurd would do this and plenty other teams good. Portland's trying to turn around I suggest we give them a chance.

He'd make history of being the shortest player to come straight out of HS. For that reason alone, he should go to college. Isn't he just 6'0 even.

Don't bother with NBADraft.net, its not that good.

But Telfair needs to go to college, even if its for one year like his cousin, Stephon.

Telfair will go pro. This cat has some mad game,in high school he looks like a man among boys...Bas Telfair is an amazin' player and i think he will head to the L...i think not only himself thinks he's headin to the League but others around him are doing the same..i think he can have an immediate impact where ever he goes...this cat is super talented and has the work ethic to make it big outta high school.

He'll be the first point guard to go pro outta high school and OJ Mayo will be the second. [IMG]

after all..Bas was asked..where will you be in three seasons..his response?

"I'll be an NBA All Star."

I have heard that Marbs is telling him to go pro...and the cancer thing in Portland, Damon Stoudamire is still there, and he isnt the perfect role model for player fresh outta HS

From what i've read, Marbury and Telfair aren't even on speaking terms so unless Marbury said something through the media, I find it unlikely he advised him to go pro...

exactly,i was gonna point this out...i highly doubt Steph got any kind of positive influence on this cat anymore..i'm not a big proponent of high school to the league, but like i said he's got the gift to do it. i love his game. anyways, the new SI is a great read about Bas...check it out

He should go to college, LeBron jumped because he's amazing and has the size to compete. Unless Telfair can go one on one wit Iverson, which he can't, he should atleast learn the game. Also, the league is all for bigger point guards now. LeBron, Dwyane, Jason Kidd...
    Can he shoot?

Don't you think he's too small though to make the jump? He should gain more experience and get stronger. It's a big downside

He is small, but that can be a good thing, that means he will be quicker...look at Eearl Boykins and Muggsy Bogues

how is it safer? what if he blew out a knee and wasnt able to go pro at all?

like i said,i dont necessarily agree with jumping from high school to the pros..BUT i do understand....wanna go prove yourself against the best of the best and make some cheddar your family...my whole contention is that all these guys leaving college early, and some not even goin, water down the league and make the play on the court suffer even more..but there are some exceptions and i think Bas is one of those guys....

in his case i dont think size will matter in the least..speed and quickness are the equalizer for size..

He CAN shoot, but needs work

It is his court vision and passing ability that has the scouts all over this kid, not just his shooting/scoring ability

Somewhere in SI I belive he was compared to "T.J. Ford with a jumpshot"

Its pretty hard to gauge how well this kid will do in the League and thats a reason why a lot of GM's would pass on him. The reason is because of the position he plays, which is the 1.

Everyone recognizes that the PG has the bulk of responsibility on the court and not everyone is willing to hand over the reins and responsibility to a 6 foot high schooler who isn't even considered the number one point guard of his class by some scouts. There is a reason why there hasn't been a pg drafted straight out of high school. The need for experience on the college or international level are highly regarded for that position and it would be good for Bass to do college for a year and show off/develope his game.

I really don't see this kid as a first rounder to tell you the truth, a lot of scouts and gms talk smack out their ass and lie to kids like Bass telling about their draft status. I would hate to see this kid get picked in the second round and not be given a decent chance.

You seriously dont think he is a first rounder?

I think he is, The CLippers will pounce on him if he is available come their pick, they need a PG and Bassy's court vision is just amazing.
