Of the 2003 rookie class, who will be the first to: 1.) Score 50 points or more 2.) Grab 20 rebounds or more 3.) Dish 20 assists or more And, who's most likely to: 4.) Be the league MVP My shots are: 1.) Carmelo Anthony... nugs really depend on him to score to win games somewhat... LBJ is capable but he can win games for them not only by scoring... Dwyane also can but he's not drawn enough plays for 50 pts... at least not yet 2.) Chris Bosh... skinny kid can really rebound in traffic with that athletic ability... knows what happens if he bulks up? 3.) Kirk Hinrich... about 1-2 games prior to the all star break I think, dished 12 assists IN THE FIRST QUARTER ALONE vs. who I forgot it was amazing.... he ended with only 16 he clearly dominates that game... 4.) LeBron James... king of numbers already and if he wins more games for his team and get them deep in the playoffs next year he might win this award...
udonis haslem already pulled 17 rebounds against the celtics. give him more minutes and he may get 20 faster than any other rookie.
i doubt anyone from this years rookie class will win MVP ever. by the time LBJ gets old enough to win it i think somebody new will come on the scene. There is ALWAYS gonna be "another michael Jordan"

Anybody can win the MVP, it's just a matter of which teams win.
1) It will be Lebron,Melo or Wade but i see Wade doing it first. It's just a gut feeling. I know that they will all get 50 someday. 2)Chris or Haslem both great rebounders but i think Haslem has more chance. 3)Kirk,he just gets alot of assists and Lebron might get it someday but he doesn't get alot of assist. The most he had is 10. 4)I think its going to be Lebron.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KG is the MVP:</div><div class="quote_post">i doubt anyone from this years rookie class will win MVP ever. by the time LBJ gets old enough to win it i think somebody new will come on the scene. There is ALWAYS gonna be "another michael Jordan"</div> okay, for the #4 mvp thing, i changed that to "most likely" so, who do you think of this year's class has the best shot of winning the season mvp...
1.) 50 pts - carmelo anthony 2.) 20 rbs - chris bosh 3.) 20 assts - tj ford And, who's most likely to: 4.) mvp - lebron james
1.) 50 pts - 'Melo 2.) 20 rbs - Chris Kaman 3.) 20 assts - T.J. Ford 4.) mvp - LeBron For the 50 points I pick 'Melo cause he's already scoring a ton this year, though Wade and Pietrus are both good shooters and if given minutes and opprotunity they may do it in the future, though because Anthony's already scoring a lot, he may get it this year or next. I pick Kaman for 20 rebounds cause he already has a game with 15, he plays center, and is large. Put that against a small eastern team, he should have 20 with enough minutes. I can see Haslem doing it, but I pick Kaman due to him being a center. David West may one day be a good rebounder, but he probably won't be the "first" to get 20 boards. Assists are between Hinrich, Ford, and Ridnour, although this may be a few years down the road (if ever) Ford will probably be the first of those guys. MVP has a lot to do with hype... James sure has that, having good numbers across the board helps him, I don't see him being MVP for a while, as long as Duncan, Garnett, Shaq, Iverson, Kobe, and Webber are in the league and putting up good numbers.... Nowitzki, Stojakovic, McGrady, Kidd, Jermaine O'Neal, Baron Davis, Paul Pierce, and Ming should all be concidered for MVP within the next few years (some this year) -- there's just too many superstars for LBJ to be given an MVP... he'd have to have a 20/8/8 season on a division winning Cavs team.
1.) 50 pts - <u>LeBron James</u>...I think once they move him to the 3 position, he'll have a lot more scoring outbursts 2.) 20 rbs - <u>Chris Bosh</u>....He's a solid rebounder who has the highest probability of hitting that mark 3.) Dish 20 assists or more....<u>T.J. Ford </u> - He's the best passer in this class so I'm going with him 4.) MVP - This might be surprsing, but I say <u>Dwyane Wade</u>...This is total gut feeling...As of right now, it's my opinion that he's playing the best out of all the rookies so why not...
1). 50 points - Carmelo Anthony - I think Carmelo will be the first to do this, he's a scoring machine and has done it on a consistent basis this year, as well as having his fair share of break out games. I believe his career high is set at 39 right now, I predict he'll get 50 next year, if not this year. 2). 20 rebounds - Chris Bosh - This guy has the athleticism to grab those boards right out the air, he's 6'10 and has long arms, I see him grabbing 20 next year, as he has already set a career high of rebounding 16 this year. 3). 20 assists - LeBron James - I'm gonna be the first to say this, I think LeBron will be the first rookie in 03 to dish out 20 assists. He's a great passer, and one game nothing will fall and he'll stack up the dimes, that's just my gut feeling, Ford and Hinrich will probably accomplish that somewhere down their career as well but I think LBJ will be the first. My prediction is next year. 4). MVP - LeBron James - I don't think I have to explain much here, this guy is currently putting up the best all around numbers out of all the rookies, in a few years he'll be even more impressive, I think he'll grow the fastest out of any of them. If not LeBron, then Carmelo.
1) Call me crazy, but I can see LeBron gettin 50 first...this year. 2) Goin to go wit Darko...haha give him 2 years 3) Kirk Hinrich of LeBron, both have excelent court vision 4) LeBron will win MVP..multiple times.
I wanted to say LeBron for the assist one myself, but I think Hinrich will do it, both he and James are capable of pulling off a Scott Skiles performance in the assists department. 1). 50 points - I'm stuck between Carmelo and Wade, so I'll say both. Both just rule on the offensive end, Wade does better on defense in my eyes. I'm not sure who'll drop 50 first, but both of them will do it for sure. 2). 20 rebounds - Chris Bosh definitely, defense, rebounding, blocking and presence regardless of his size and weight. I see him averaging around 12 per game at least in the future. 3). 20 assists - LeBron and Hinrich, unselfish and skillful. LeBron seems to be the more offensive minded, so I'll go with Hinrich here. 4). MVP - Although I'd like it to be Wade, it'll probably be LeBron, he's probably the most versatile of all the players. He can do it all, and in the near future, he'll be able to do it all, even better.
Hello everyone this is my first post here... don't bully the rookie! Here are my picks: 1.) 50 points- Carmelo Anthony. He seems to be proving people that he is not going to hit the rookie wall. His shooting percentage is improving, and his teammates have trusted him more than ever to be the go to guy. I agree with you Fishball that James can win games by doing more than just scoring. Dwyane is very good, he's the second here that IMO will hit that half century mark after Melo. 2.) 20 rebounds- Udonis Haslem, this kid is not getting a lot of minutes but is making the most out of them, especially in the rebounding department. If he continues his hard work, 20 is not a long wait. 3.) 20 assists- TJ Ford, I was thinking of Kirk too but TJ will get this first IMO because he is playing on a winning team that needs him to contribute in this area. He is lightning quick and the only knock on him is not having totally adjusted to the NBA game. I think by next season he should be more established aand once he's settling down, this record is up for his grabs. Kirk came close this season with his career high 14 (not 16) assists against Boston. He had like 8 assists in the first quarter, but focused to score more after he hit three for three from downtown. 4.) MVP- Carmelo Anthony, without being overly biased this guy is capable of averaging 25-27 ppg next season and it's only going to be his second season. His only stat knock is on assist but with more experience he'll learn how to kick it to open teammates while constantly look to score, just like Kobe. And when he reaches his peak in say 5-6 years, and his team winning, the numbers are going to be crazy and he has a great shot of getting the MVP.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KG is the MVP:</div><div class="quote_post">i doubt anyone from this years rookie class will win MVP ever. by the time LBJ gets old enough to win it i think somebody new will come on the scene. There is ALWAYS gonna be "another michael Jordan"</div> That is nuts to say, serious. This rookie class is so young and will only get better and better as the years go buy, it's scary what they are doing alone this year.
Without the big two (Melo and King... Darko? Maybe someday we'll mention about a "Big Three"... but not now!), the class consisting of Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Hinrich, Ford, Hayes, Howard, Haslem and Darko is already considered great. It has miles away surpassed the 2000 class when Mike Miller won the rookie award. Now add the Big Two, this rookie class IMO stands as one of the best classes ever. With the exception of Mike and maybe AI, noone should have ever seen a rookie play with the composure like this and at times, dominate the game. Yeah, these guys are improving and one day one of them will be considered as MVP candidates at least.
1) 50 points - Without a doubt it's Carmelo Anthony. He's able to create for himself and he can get to the paint. To top that off, he's got a better jumper than both LeBron and Wade. And, due to the fact that he's already been near 40, 39 being his high so far, on multiple occasions, it's hard to go against that. Plus, he's been getting a lot of 2nd chance buckets lately to. So, definitely Melo for this one. 2) 20 rebounds - I will go with Bosh. He's not big but he's very long and athletic and he's quicker than most big men so he'll be able to get to the long rebounds. A person I'd love to say here though is Nick Collison, unfortunately, he has yet to step on the court this year so we don't know what he could be until next year. 3) 20 assists - It's a toss up between Ford and Hinrich. Each have just insane court vision and their each really pass before shoot guys also. It'll be one of those two, and I wouldn't doubt to see one of em do it this year. Though, it's been what, 3 years since a rookie did it and that was Jamaal Tinsley who did it last. Hell, he might have been in his second year, I don't remember. 4) MVP - Again, I have to go with Carmelo Anthony. I think, the fact that he's on a winning team in the powerful Western conference gives him a better shot than LeBron. But, if he does win it, it's gonna be at least a few years down the line. It's gonna be very hard with Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, and Garnett around to win it.
1.) Score 50 points or more - Lebron, it'll be easiest for him becasue he just always gets the ball 2.) Grab 20 rebounds or more - Bosh, of course 3.) Dish 20 assists or more - Hinrich, just watch him play 4.) Be the league MVP - Carmelo, he turned the Nuggets around, more so than what Lebron has done for the Cavs. Sure Lebron succeeds in basketball but he succeeds even more in commercializing the game.
1.) Score 50 points or more- LeBron James...scoring seems so easy for him, plus he does a great job getting to the line and finishing...also, i personally think he has a better team around him, so opponents wont be able to focus in on him as much as they can with Carmelo 2.) Grab 20 rebounds or more- I think if Udonis Haslem stays in the league and gets consistent minutes, he can easily get 20+ boards...he has a nose for the basketball and is a willing banger... 3.) Dish 20 assists or more- TJ Ford...Ford has great passing vision and is a pass-first point guard, something rare in todays NBA...I think he could get 20 or more assists in his sleep, especially with Redd and KVH around him... And, who's most likely to: 4.) Be the league MVP- LeBron...the kid has so many great all-around skills, with 20/6/6 averages, and he already makes his teammates better...and this is all as a rookie...once he develops his shaky jump shot, he'll be literally unstoppable...
you guys are nuts if you don't think lebron will be the first to win mvp, and win it multiple times, barring an unforeseen catastrophe
LeBron is crazy man, look at how good he is doing in his first year, RIGHT OUT OF HS too....... man excellent basketball player, but one thing there will never be a next MJ MJ is the finest players ive ever seen no one can ever replace him
