Stephen Jackson said Sunday that he will not pick up the option on the second year of his two-year, $2.1 million deal -- which shouldn't come as a surprise, considering he rejected a three-year, $10 million offer from the San Antonio Spurs last summer.

"I'm free after this year," Jackson said. "I'm totally free. I don't know if I'm going to be here next year or not. I know I'll have a job somewhere next year. No matter what, I'm going to be happy."

should go back to san antonio. that's where i think he'll wind up going. i doubt the spurs thought he'd develop this quick w/ the atlanta hawks of all teams.

I dont think Steph Jack going back to the Hawks next season, He only took the Hawks deal so he could prove that he is worth a serious long term deal like 5 or 6 years. He didnt want to go back to the Spurs because at the time it look like MAnu was going to be the starting this year. And I dont think Stephen Jackson wants to come off the bench. So he took the Hawks short term deal to prove himself as a starter without the pressure of someone giving him a run for the starting job. Not really sure what team he'll land on. but I nothing but love for Stephen Jackson since his Nets' days in 2000. He filled in very nicely alongside Marbury, when Kerry Kittles was injured for the whole season. But the one knock one him is that he seems not to be the coaches type of player. He had run ends with B.Scott when he was on the Nets and coach Greg Pop had a few problems with him as well. He needs to work on his shot selection.

I'm really fond of SJax, he really has an overall good game. He works and tries very hard, what's even more great about him is the fact he can drain 3's and mid range jumpers easily as long as he's open and has time, much like a better Bowen in the offensive department. I would've loved for him to have stayed in the Spurs, both he and Claxton were key to the Finals.
