Very happy to see a guy I watched as a freshman in college at Marquette, Coach Crean was the only guy to see talent in him out of HS and stuck with him through a rocky start, great to see a Marquette alum doing well

Wade definitely did deserve it, this year i think there will be the first 3 way rookie tie, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, And Carmelo Anthony co rookies of the year.

Is that possible a 3way tie for ROY?
But Wade did definitely deserve to win Player of the week.I hope Wade plays this good for the rest of the season.Congrats to Mr. Wade again.

If there was ever a 3 way tie, it should be this year. All 3 of them are doing amazing and their teams are benefiting from it. Totalling or passing their win totals from last year.
Congrats to Mr.WADE!!! Let's go HEAT

Tonight at the Blazers game they announced it and the whole arena gave Dwyane a standing ovation. He really deserved it, especially this week, I thought he was going to get eastern conference rookie of the week or something along those lines, but never player of the week, I was really glad and it looks like Dwyane is going to bring national attention to the Heat, something that hasn't happened in a while.

Very deserving, he has been playing great ball lately. And not only that, he took over the top spot in the Rookie Rankings in the rookie section of NBA.com.

Dwyane Wade, previously at #3 behind LeBron and Carmelo has moved up to #1 in the NBA.com rookie rankings, there is more to being #1 than just putting up big numbers, it's who has the biggest impact on their team. According to the NBA, Dwyane Wade has had a larger impact on the Heat than LeBron has had on the Cavs or Melo has had on the Nuggets, and for that he is ranked #1.

Also, Udonis Haslem is ranked 8th.

I think the ROY award will go to whichever player takes their team farthest in the playoffs. If the Cavs make it to the playoffs and get knocked out in the first round but the Heat make it to the second round, Dwyane will win the ROY over LeBron.

isn't ROY awarded at the end of the regular season? how far the teams go in the playoffs will not affect voting.

but if the Heat makes the playoffs and the Cavs don't, Wade should get the award. He doesn't have LeBron's numbers, but LeBron doesn't have to share scoring opportunities with Odom and Jones.

Now isn't everybody happy that the heat didn't have the fourth Pick in the draft...I'm sure we would have taken Churs Bosh. No knock on Bosh but Wade is a SUPERSTAR!!!!

Pretty sure it also counts in the playoffs which is why Amare won it over Yao last year

Wade and Bosh are my favorite rookies. Bosh due to his humbleness, Wade well I haven't seen him offcourt but still he is such a great player. Almost averaging 5 boards and assists per game. Only a few people have managed to pull that off for a season and a career.

He was and is the one I want for ROY. He clearly deserves it, compared to the other two Rookies, LeBron and Carmelo, his team is mediocre. They've been playing really well lately though. But that's mostly because of him. 17 ppg, that'll be 24 someday probably, 4.3 apg and rpg will be like 5 or 6. He's gonna be really something. He already is, he and Odom are really gonna turn the Heat around in the future.

yeah, you are right. so then it's true, if we make the playoffs and cleveland don't, and we go past the first round on wade's good play, he should get it.

Where do they announce Eastern Conference Player of the Week anyway? I respect Dwayne Wade becasue he's from Chicago and all but this honor would be better appreciated if it was Player of the Month... the award isn't too consistent.
