who do you think should be the top 10 candidates for the player of the year award, and who do you think is going to win it and why?
This is a really hard choice. But, I really don't feel like typing out all 10 of my people and the reasons why they're up there. So, I'll list my top 5 and explain my #1 and you guys will like it, and, if you don't, I could care less. So just deal with it. 1. Jameer Nelson (St. Joes) - Well, first and foremost, I think his stats speak for themselves. 20 ppg, leading the team there. Hitting 50.4% from the field and 41% from the arc. Not too mention he leads the team in assists at 5.4 and assists to turnover ratio at 1.9 assists per turnover. Than, to top it all off, he's got his team at teh #2 ranking in the nation and on their way to an undefeated season and a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. I personally think this is no question what-so-ever on who should get it currently. 2. Hakeem Warrick (Syracuse) 3. Emeka Okafor (UConn) 4. Andre Emmete (Texas Tech) 5. Rashad McCants (North Carolina) Now, though you may not agree with some of them, probably #5 being the main one, realize, these are all personal opinions. Partly based on team standing and partially based on stats, and, of course, partially based on, yes, that's right, personal opinion on how I think they've done.
it is indeed rashad mccants and i have no idea who should win john wooden award. Jameer looks like a good choice.
Sorry, I don't know why I put Ryan McCants. Stupid mental error I guess. I suppose I'll go and change it. But, thanks for pointing out my mistake.
Hakim Warrick does it for me, he is just such a great overall player. He's a key reason as to why his team is good. Same goes for Okafor and Jameer, I'm stuck between the three of them. But if I had to choose, Jameer. His versatality does it for me. Okafor too, although I wish he could shoot free throws better.

I always thought he was a big factor in wins, in the games I saw they'd play well. Then again the only games I saw of them and Michigan State were their good ones.
Hakim won't win, he can't really shoot that well, but he can dunk. I like okafor, but jameer is solid. It probably just comes down to who's team does best. Right now its Jameer because of his team's perf. record.
