Are Kobe and Shaq the best 1-2 punch EVER?

Considering these guys are basically 50/50 on all levels in the lakers offensive play, i would consider these two guys probably the most exciting as well as best front and backcourt duo of all time...Jordan and pippen cant really work well in this category considering pippen was 30% as opposed to jordan being 70% of the 1-2 punch. showtime LA didnt really have a 1-2 punch, it was more a team effort, and the celtics....well if you consider bird and mchale...hakeem and clyde?...opinions please

(note - im talking about 1-2 punches, no role players, bench, or any other starting 5 players involved...ie - robert horry or steve kerr)

Not yet, but they aren't done together. They could become the best ever, depending on how many titles they win and if they stick together.

But I can list some others:

    -Stockton & Malone
    -Magic & Kareem
    -Jordan & Pip
the list goes on and on...

They are the most dominant, you double team shaq, shaq gets fouled out, Kobe's time to shine...Kobe's doubled team, injured, out watever, Shaq's time to shine.

when both on the court, pure chemistry...If they play like they're in the 2nd half, each scoring 30, they'll be the greatest duos in the league.

Not even close to being the best 1-2 punch, but if they continue to play together and win the rings they might be able to claim that honor.

Best 1-2 punch today, no doubt. I think they need a few more successful years together to be considered the best duo ever

Yep, you guys pretty much summed up the topic, but they are far away from being one of the best duo's. Definetley need some more years together and 2 or 3 rings would be nice to go along with it. Then one day we can call them ONE of the best.

Yes, best 1-2 punch ever. You won't find another duo that is as dominant on offensiv. 2nd would be West/Baylor IMO.

Not really, but they're the first I've ever seen to be in the top five in scoring during the 2k-2k1 season. 28+ points a piece. But Jordan and Pip were the best IMO too.

    Jordan and Pip

Stockton and Malone (no championships but they had they greatest chemistry)

    Magic and Kareem

I would think of these pairs before considering Shaq and Kobe.

i dont think that stockton and malone should be considered the best because they never won any rings together, but i think shaq and kobe r up there with the best of them.

Just because Stockton and Malone were not able to get a ring does not exclude them from being one of the best duos. They had the greatest chemistry with each other I have ever seen on a basketball court and their pick and roll was just deadly. I would certainly consider them among the best regardless of any championships.

I don't really consider them as a duo. Jordan was the main man, Pippen was his sidekick. Same with Malone and Stockton.
Shaq and Kobe are almost equal. They're a true combo.
