Am I the only one not hoping for the playoffs? Lets be honest, a lottery pick would help this team alot more. They aren't gonna sign anybody in the off season, there aren't too many names that will help. Plus, whats the point of playing the Nets/Pacers/Pistons in the opening round, we would just get smoked. We got robbed last draft. I was sitting infront of the televison, fullying thinking we were gonna at least come away with Carmello Anthony, and we might even have a chance at Lebron. No diss on CB4, but i would have rather had Anthony. Maybe this year we can pull out Emeka Okafor, Luol Deng, or Andris Biedrins. Man I would even take Kris Humphries, he can clean the glass. BUT I'M PRAYING FOR THE MIRICLE, Emeka Okafor!
I just don't want Pavel P, anyone but him, I want us to make the playoffs and see what we can do in "the real season", but if we don't anyone but him, I'm not too high on getting him.
Forget the lottery pick, I think the raptors from a mental stand point have to make the playoffs this year, they have to be confident in there ability or else every season when they start off well the possibility of encountering another injury or something bad down the road will continue to wander in the back of there minds. This team has to strive for the best they can attain instead of willingly not going to the playoffs simply to build.

Now with Carter back and Jalen coming soon we have a legit chance of making the playoffs. LB23 and the Cavs have played great of late and the Celts beat the twolves... Lets hope we can start a streak or something and try for the 6th or 7th spot. Making the playoffs would be very nice, and who knows maybe the second round will be our destiny. Oh and norespect, for the third time now. STOP USING MY AVATAR.
well even if Raptors make the playoffs raptors can still draft a center they need.. Like Jin or Bogut or even the Oakville boy 7'1 Chiriaev
lol streetball....notice how norespect NEVER answers you back when you tell him to stop using the avatar. It's like you don't exist.
rapz_rulez there is already a playoff thread, read the sticky at the top off the forum about Duplicate Threads, there is no need to make more than one thread on a topic, if you see a similar thread, post your thoughts in there. Threads merged. -thefranchise3
I hope we could get Hakim Warrick (sp) I've seen him play and he's very good. I think we have a pretty slim chance of making the playoffs if Jalen doesn't return.
I know this is a negative statement, but my motto in the nba is, "If you're gonna suck, then at least suck hard" (not to be taken out of context). Last year we were terrible, but if we were just a little bit more terrible then we would've ended up with Melo or better yet, Lebron. We were in third last place in the league last season so I doubt it wouldn't have mattered if we ended up dead last instead, just as long as it gave us a better chance at Melo and Lebron. Of course, no offense to CB4 though. This year is a different story though. Seeing how there's a lot of horrible teams in the league, I doubt we could ever be the worst even if we tried, so you can kiss Okafor goodbye. The 2004 draft isn't going to be as deep as it was in 2003 so we might as well give it our all. Besides, with the amount of cap space that'll be free in the off season and the amount of players becoming available, a high pick in the draft wouldn't be necessary.
I thought only the top 3 teams could get the first pick in the draft this year too because of Charlotte being in it and getting the 4th pick.
No need to tank for such a weak draft .. besides this talk is ridiculas .. we're right in the thick of things .. we can't just give up like that
thats actually a pretty easy schedual, dont have to worry about many powerhouse teams. im thinking 7tyh seed, and they are looking great in indiana right now

Why doesent anyone seem to realize that this team stinks?

Raptors lost against pacers! this was a really bad lost! we needed this one badly to make the playoffs! lets just hope we can win next game against cleveland so we can tie with boston, miami, and cleveland! o ya, and i forgot, boston, and miami are playing tmrw also... their playing against LA and New Orleans though... it will be tough for all 4 teams tmrw!
The Raptors need to be 10-8 in the next 18 games against some very stiff competition. I can foresee that they will miss the playoffs if they don't make 10-8
If the Raps don't win today vs. Utah, they can their playoff hopes goodbye. The other teams just don't want to lose...and we're something like 2 and 1/2 games out of that 8th spot.
Hope we can make it, unlikely tho, but then again u never know, like the time about 2 yrs ago when we were 10 games out, then we won em with Davis being the leader
