Los Angeles Clippers At Dallas Mavericks
    Date: Tuesday, February 24, 2004
    Time: 5:30 PST

    Clippers: (24-30)
    Head Coach: Mike Dunleavy Sr.

    Mavericks: (35-20)
    Head Coach: Don Nelson
    [IMG]

    Probable Starters

    Centers:
[IMG] #42 Scott Williams [IMG] #35 Chris Kaman

    Power Forwards:
[IMG] #8 Antoine Walker [IMG] #42 Elton Brand

    Small Forwards:
[IMG] #41 Dirk Nowitzki [IMG] #50 Corey Maggette

    Shooting Guards:
[IMG] #4 Michael Finley [IMG] #3 Quentin Richardson

    Point Guards:
[IMG] #13 Steve Nash [IMG] #20 Marko Jaric

    Key Players
[IMG] Quentin Richardson: Once he gets hot, he can change the outcome of games single handedly. Has a very dangerous range, and once he is in the zone there is not much that can be done to stop him. Richardson is a very streaky shooter, and it might be key for the Mavs to come out and try to slow him in the early going.

[IMG] Antawn Jamison: Sixth man off the Mavericks bench, a very dangerous scorer from inside and out. Jamison is the energy and impact player off the bench, and also has the ability to got for over 20points in any given night. Jamison is currently averaging nearly 15 PPG in under 30 minutes a game behind a very talented Dallas starting lineup.

    Keys To The Game

Clippers: The Clippers are currently 3-0 against the Mavericks this season. The Clippers are also currently riding a two game winning streak, which includes a very close road game against a strong home team in Milwaukee. The key to a Clipper victory is to get off to a strong start, and have a sizeable lead going into the 4th quarter.

Mavericks: The Mavericks are also currently riding on a two game winning streak, and also hold one of the league's best home records at 24-4. The Mavericks must contain Brand off the boards and play tough defense on Richardson to make sure he does not get off to a hot start. Production off the bench will be key, with Antawn Jamison leading the way for the Mavs against a thin Clipper bench. The Clippers are one of the few teams who can match the speed of the Mavericks, and they must make their outside shots to win this game.

    Prediction:
I predict that the Clippers will get off to their usual slow start, but ralley back to a lead at half time. I think the Clippers will go into the 4th down by a few points after a competetive 3rd quarter by both teams, and drop this one in the 4th. The Clippers are a very young team who still do not seem to be able to close the close cames, and I predict this will take effect yet again. These are two very talented scoring teams, and I think it will end as a high scoring game.

    Clippers - 104
    Mavericks - 109

Looks pretty good Phreeze, the only thing I would suggest is to possibly expand a little bit on the game keys. Maybe we could add some stats, streaks, etc. I would be happy to help add to it if you wouldn't mind. [IMG]

Wow, I was just about to work on this preview, glad I checked the Clippers forum. And I'm also glad you decided to follow through on getting it more active, I'll get the next preview if you want me to.

Anyways, Brand will dominate this one inside, Mavs best bet is to do what they have been doing, they will need their outside shooting to be right on point for Wednesday's game if they want to come out with a win. EB goes for 32 and 15, and the Clips win by 3.

Yeah...well, not quite the way I expected it to go tonight. Dallas is blowing the Clippers out the building tonight.

Damn, I honestly didn't expect us to win this one but I didn't think we'd get blown out. Right from the beginning we were getting killed and Dallas rode that lead all the way til the end. We made a run and finally got back within 12, but Dallas denied that one and brought it back up to 20. Pretty disappointing game for the Clips, we really need to learn how to get off to a good start in games. Brand was shut down early on, and no one else stepped up. We did win the series 3-1, but this last one was ugly.
