Very disapointing game... I didn't watch it, but I kept with it on nba.com. Wade only had 12 points shooting 33% (5-15) Odom did a good job though, keeping it pretty close. I saw at halftime the Heat winning by about 8, and I don't know what happened after that. I think Wade only got 3 points per quarter. Good effort, winstreak over
The Blazers played brutal defense tonight, anytime Dwyane touched the ball he was immediately double teamed. Lamar was really our only force, in the second half our bench was pretty much worthless. We had a huge lead but squandered it with poor shooting. Besides Wade's other stats that were already mentioned, he also had 5 steals. We really could have used EJ's hot shooting tonight. Every Heat fan knows all too well that no lead is safe with the Heat. This entire season we have lost a countless number of games because we just squandered away big leads because we couldn't keep it together down the stretch. We're still in the 8th spot and we don't have another game until Saturday which is against the Nets, so you can be sure that Stan is going to hammer the guys tomorrow at practice. The good news in all of this is that the Sixers lost to the Pistons last night and the Knicks are going to be playing in Sacramento tonight, which pretty much guarantees them a loss. The bad news is that the Sixers are playing Atlanta, which is almost a guaranteed win. Box score: http://www.nba.com/games/20040223/PORMIA/boxscore.html
Since the Knicks lost last night, they're now tied with the Raptors for 6th place and the Heat are now only half a game back from 6th! That's the good news, the bad news is that we will be facing the Nets this Saturday night and then the Bucks on Sunday, but thankfully we will be facing the Nets after their huge winning streak was broken. Afterall, the last time the Nets face us at home we completely blowed them out, so I think we have a good chance of winning. The Knicks are facing the Clippers on Friday which they have a good chance of winning, but then again they lost to the Suns last night so anything is possible. Then on Sunday they're facing the Nuggets, and I predict the Nuggets will take that one. The Raptors will face the Celtics twice this week on Friday and then again on Sunday, regardless of the outcome, those matchups are bad for the Heat because both of those teams are in the playoff race, but hopefully the Celtics will win both games.
