I know hes 8th or something like that. Earlier on TNT or ESPN, they listed players this season that are top 15 in scoring and assist or something similiar... Iverson wasn't listed either.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting choppa22:</div><div class="quote_post">AI averages 6.6 assist why doesnt the nba have him listed in the top ten???</div> Probably because he hasn't played enough games this season
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllBoutDaPacers:</div><div class="quote_post">Probably because he hasn't played enough games this season</div> Then how come they have him at the top points/game list?
There's probably a minimum amount of total points or assists to be on the list...he may meet one criteria (points, obviously) but not the other.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MAEV:</div><div class="quote_post">Then how come they have him at the top points/game list?</div> They have and/or minimums for making a list...AI qualifies for scoring, but not assist... (I don't know the exact numbers but I'm making them up for explaination purpose)...for example, they can say for you to be eligible for scoring, you need at least 70 games played OR 1500 pts...If AI plays only 60 games, but averages 30 pts a game, he would have 1800 pts (60 x 30 = 1800) and he would qualify (cuz he exceeded 1500 pts)....and lets say assist is 70 games OR 450 assists to qualify...AI plays only 60 games and averages 7 assist a game...he would not qualify because he would have only 420 assist which falls short of the minimum... I hope that made sense

I never really knew that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting choppa22:</div><div class="quote_post">yeh that is weird so you have to have a total amount of games and assist</div> Not and, but rather either/or.....he just needs to fulfill one requirement to qualify....he could played under 70 games and still qualify if he met the totals requirment....
#2 in Scoring #1 in Steals #8 in Assists- Dosent qualify....But averaging 27 points, and magane to dish out 6 dymes is pretty impressive. #1 in Minutes- 42 Minutes. #1 in Free Throw Attemps Per 48 Minutes Those are basically MVP numbers. If the Sixers had a record like the Nets at least, AI would be a Top 5 NBA MVP canidate.
yeh thats true but so would other people like T-Mac, if the Magic were winning he would also be an mvp canidate.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ANiMuS:</div><div class="quote_post">There's probably a minimum amount of total points or assists to be on the list...he may meet one criteria (points, obviously) but not the other.</div> yep thats why...
He was listed, but he's missed a couple games so he must have fallen off the "qualification" list. But as stated above, he's ranked #8 at 6.6 per game. The best passing SG in the league and bested only by 7 other guards in the league, pg's.
