Phoenix doesn't even have much more to go for their "rebuilding process". They already have three great players, and I think they're a decent center and a good PG away from being a contender for the 7th or 8th spot in the playoffs next season. Amare is amazing and we all know what Shawn can do. Even Joe is starting to show what he can do since the Marbury trade, and I think what you guys should be really looking for is a strong PG. I also liked Zarko a lot before he got injured, and he seems to have some potential as well. If I were Phoenix I would never say no to signing an All-Star or even trading for one as long as you don't mess with your core much, but unless something like that is possible I would just go for a PG. I don't know much about this draft class, but I hear there are many good PG's, so hopefully you guys can get a PG out of that and sign a center.

The great thing about Phoenix's situation isn't just their young talent, but they have a ton of high draft picks...IMO, if Kobe leaves L.A., Phoenix seems to be the ideal place...the pieces just seem to fit...they have a great franchise, the owner loves Kobe, the coach loves Kobe, and most importantly, the fans seem to want him...I sincerly don't want Kobe to leave L.A. (shoot, i'd be okay if he signed w/ the Clippers), but I too think he's leaning towards making an exit...

If the Suns somehow get Kobe, I don't think they really need a "solid PG." Kobe can play that position (he's already essentially be one for several years) and JJ won't get pissed about his starting spot. That lineup would be pretty balanced on both ends of the court...except for the 5 spot.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CourtVision:</div><div class="quote_post">You think that Kobe can't win with Amare, Marion, Joe Johnson, Barbosa???</div>

That's true, Barbosa has really improved, he's like Tony Parker, once time passes, he's going to dominate. Marion is so much smaller than most yet he rebounds like nobody's business. Combine this with Joe's offensive game, Amare's defense and size with Kobe's stealing and offensive ability and you have a hell of a team. You'd simply need better people on the bench in case of injury and for relief purposes.

I think he'll leave, but like I've said, I'm not sure if I'm sold on him coming here, will he really lift the Suns to the next level? Maybe Marion and Amare can add up to be Shaq, but if Kobe wants to prove he can run a team by his own, wouldn't Marion and Amare get in the way? Utah and Atlanta are teams without stars, Kobe would have to go there if he wanted to show he could run the show by himself. Utah is already winning, and AK47 should be an All-Star soon, it wouldn't be a bad fit, 'cept for the fact Miller pulled that stupid phone stunt and mentioned Kobe in it!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">The community showed a lot of emotional support for him when he was accused of the rape charges</div>
Yeah good point, most other cities (including PHX) boo'd him, but now that the Suns aren't doing so well and fans want Kobe (combined with the fact half the fans in the AWA were bandwagon Laker fans... honestly they are, I live here, people here jump bangwagons midway through seasons, it's sad -- I used to think they were snowbirds or just moved here, but in school I've had classmates, born here, who used to be Bulls fans and now wear Shaq jerseys and claim they've liked LA forever... same with the Cowboys, they started wearing Bucs apperal and talked how Sapp should be president when they won :P) the last visit the fans cheered Kobe.

For probably the first time ever, I agree with what Phreeze said... I'd also prefer them getting a better PG (for now, cause I do think Barbosa and/or Vujanic can become quality PGs) and a Center, although I think Jahidi is doing a great job (did you see him against Shaq? Shaq was having fits)... problem is his cap number (in a year they need the room).

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">The great thing about Phoenix's situation isn't just their young talent, but they have a ton of high draft picks... the coach loves Kobe... </div>
Well they have 1 high draft pick, their own pick this year, that's IF they don't trade it in the off-season... it will probably be around 7th by the end of the season (depending on the lottery). They gave away both New York picks, WILL give away Cleveland's lottery protected pick to Charlotte and bribe them to take Jahidi (why not Eisley?). Yeah that coaching move now seems to be geared towards the run at Kobe, but then again who says D'Antoni will be the coach next year? With the coaching pool most likely as big as last season the Suns should be able to sign a proven winner...

AK47 is already an All Star. I cannot picture Kobe going to the Jazz or Hawks, as much as he wants to be the leader of a team, those two choices don't offer him a chance to win. I think the Suns make even more sense since they are having a terrible season, because Kobe can come in and easily lead this team back to the playoffs and take a majority of the credit for it. Similar to how the Spurs went from worst to first after they drafted Tim Duncan. The Kobe at PG experiment might work, but I don't think he can defend the quicker guards.

I don't think its whether Kobe can defend the quicker guards, I think its whether or not he wants too.

I've seen Kobe get lazy on defense, and I hate it. (I've also seen way worse...)
