You of all people talkin' this kinda smack to someone?? Give me a break....You shouldn't say anything of this sort to anyone considering your "intelligent" contributions to this site are nil.

I'm hoping he'll go onto a team who can make great use of an awesome point guard like the Cavaliers or the Rockets. His overall game really amazes me. One of the biggest small men ever.

ONly if the rockets trades francis would they pick jameer, but they might probably trade steve cause he does not want to have ming as his go to guy... so nelson is a great pick for the rockets if he get passed down to the rockets which won't happen

Nelson will go mid to late first round. he ddserves around a #17 pick which, up to this point belongs to New Orleans(which wiull probably pick Hakim Warrick of Syracuse)but he is projected as #11 which id Golden State's pick.

I doubt he'll be a top 5 pick, but I do think that he should be a late lottery pick because he is really good. If he drops to the 17th pick, I personally would look at that as a snag for the team who gets him, because it would be nice to pick him up that late.

depending on where they land philly would be a great place for him because it would be like lebron the home town kid who has a chance to do something great plus the sixers need a point guard because depending on what they do with AI willie green may move to shooting guard and he isnt a natural point guard and they have a quickly ageing snow

i like nelson a lot but to me he's Khalid El-Amin revisted. too short but a guy i would take a chance on. i think he might be a late lottery pick but i think he should go late in the first round.

If you're going the direction of making a height reference, fine. If not, then I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.

Nelson has waay more intangibles going for him than El-Amin did, or even does now. Nelson is quicker and a better scorer.

There's no scenario I can foresee that puts him in the top 5 picks, as some have indicated. However, he'll probably be a mid-first rounder. Anyone taking him in the lottery area numbers is wasting a pick, IMO.

Why so? Nelson showed in the tourney that he could be a big time star in the future and did help make St. Joe's a top team. All that's holding him back from being the number 1 pick is his height, but he won't be as bad as a top 20 pick. I'm saying that a team like Charlotte might trade down to get him at maybe the 10th-12th spot.

First, let's keep in mind that Nelson wasn't the only weapon that got St. Joe's to thier success.

Second, tourney success and even a great year, don't instantly translate into NBA success.

He's too small, for starters, and that's a big detractor that easy to get by in college with and not in the NBA.

I may be wrong about him, but I just can't picture anyone taking him in the lottery picks. Maybe 12-20, but not lower than that.

TJ Ford is a similar player and he was drafted 8th. I agree with the fact that Nelson might be too short to be really good in the NBA, but with the zone defense and his skills, I think that he would be good to be a 15/3/7 type of point guard, if he gets to start. A team who has nothing to lose could take a chance with him, and Charlotte is the best option right now, in my opinion.

Doesn't Charlotte get the #4 pick in the draft automatically?

Maybe in this draft, you can take a guy like Nelson at #4, but I wouldn't. There's not going to be much in the way of quality left available in terms of big men in the expansion draft and when you're sitting on the #4 overall, you go after height first. Pg's can be come by easily compared to a quality Center or PF prospect.

khalid el-amin was an excellent college player and i think a nba gm should give him a tryout to fill out the backend of a roster. to me, nelson has a better shot but athletically i think they are equals in terms of quickness and strength.
