<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After spending the bulk of a seven-game road trip defending himself against all kinds of tawdry accusations, Bruce Bowen came home and finally found an opponent who refused to call him dirty.

But that was only because Houston's Cuttino Mobley had a different label in mind for the Spurs forward.

    Flopper.

Angered by the attempts of Bowen and Manu Ginobili to draw charging fouls ? and especially by the officials' willingness to take them up on it ? Mobley was more than eager to share his thoughts after the Spurs' 86-77 victory over the Rockets at the SBC Center on Tuesday.

"Tim (Duncan) deserves it," Mobley said of the Spurs' perceived respect from officials. "I don't know about the rest of them getting whistles every (expletive), I mean, every (different expletive) time they go to the cup or something.

"Manu Ginobili flops, Bruce Bowen flops. I'm no flopper. I play ball."
Bowen, fresh off wars of words with Toronto's Vince Carter and Minnesota's Flip Saunders, laughed incredulously when told of the most recent insult directed at him.</div>

Bowen Is Dirty and A Flopper. I watched the game against the Rockets and Bowen flopped twice. Terrible. And IMO he stuck his foot under Carter who's out 2-4 weeks now because of that. Thats IMO tho.

Someone get the guy a rattle

Looks like Mobley is trying to find an excuse why his team lost, wouldn't be the first time.

Something tells me that out of all these accusations against Bowen....one of them has to be true.

After watching him pull a Jet Li on Wally Szhldfklsdfjsfjbk he looks pretty dirty to me too

Some of these NBa players are just stupid imo. They running to the media telling them how Bruce Bowen gets under their skin. 1st Ray Allen, now Cat mobley, all their doing is giving Bowen the mental edge imo. A great defenders best weapon is when he can get in your head mentally. Dennis Rodman use to do it. Gary Payton does it with his trash talking the list goes on an on. Bruce Bowen is a psyhical defender, who uses his hands & body alot to keep you from getting to your favorite spots on the floor. So their is going to be alot of contact & alot of close calls. If they dont get the call dont cry about after the game just suck it up & try to adjust for the next matchup.

The only reason why everybody says he is dirty is because its usually your favorite stars that he is locking up. I not a Bruce Bowen fan, but I respect Bowen. He knows that Defense is the only reason he is in the league, so he goes out every game & works hard at it. He works just as hard on D as Vince Carter, Tracy Mcgrady, whoever does on offense. So you got to respect that. Every team wished they had a bruce bowen, or a Ron Artest to lead their perimeter Defense. He stretches the Defensive rule book but every great Defensive player does.

    I see a fine coming...

Oh, and I have the greatest respect for Bowen as a defender but come one, I'm sure he pulls some cheap shots every once in a while...

*whinning* *whinning* .... man, maybe the Rockets should release this Cat. He forgot that he's paid to play, not to whine.

That says it right there, it's not really the want, but rather the need to. It was just poor sportsmanship, Mobley played well, he shouldn't get so frustrated, they got beaten by one of the best teams in the league. Defense always wins the game for the Spurs, that game right there showed it. It's not a mistake, nor a crime if you lose to the Spurs. The Rockets are another awesome defensive team so it was just a great win is all. Could be worse, at least you aren't in the same situation as Pierce, AI and TMac.

I have a lot of respect to bowen...Because me myself being a defensive minded player..Who loves to shut down my guy or the paint..I can understand that sometimes you got to get a shot here or there...But i get a lot of lip from the offensive player too...I think bowen is a smart defender and a bit crazy..I know because people say i am crazy and relentless when defending..I have so much respect for him..And my man ron-ron as i am a pacer fan..Keep it up bowen..One of these days you will win..DPOY!

Not to take anything away from Ray Allen, he's a very nice guy, I suppose Mobley probably is. But it seems every time Bowen locks someone down, someone gets frustrated and comments. Defenders like him of Artest, Snow and Mobley's caliber seem to annoy everyone. It's really hard to keep a cool head in the league, recently look at TMac and Stackhouse.

I don't really see much people complaining about Artest too much. He plays straight up defence (with the exception of trying to pulling Paul Pierces pants down). I think Bowen is kind of dirty if everyone is stepping foward and saying so. Some of it has to be true

I used to respect Bowen as a defender, but lately it seems as if he's been resorting to dirty tactics opposed to relying on his hustle and intensity, which can diminish with age...Allen, Mobley and even Kobe have all complained of Bowen's tactics, so there must be some truth to the accusations...
