<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Despite the harsh reception he received during his last game in Denver, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant said he will consider the Nuggets among various free-agent suitors when the season ends.

The Nuggets are expected to make a run at Bryant during free agency this summer. Bryant said Wednesday he would listen.

"As I've been saying, at the end of the season I'm going to sit down and evaluate every option and break down every team, and Denver is one of them,'' Bryant said at a shootaround before Wednesday night's game.

Bryant last played here Jan. 7 -- his first game in Denver since being charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a Colorado resort last summer. He was booed during pre-game introductions and every time he touched the ball.

Fans in other NBA cities hoping to land Bryant have eased up on the booing, including San Antonio and Phoenix. Denver would be a more attractive option for Bryant than in recent years because the team is competitive.

    See...I told you so...[IMG]...

So the Nuggets wants him and he's considering it there. We just have to wait and see what comes next.

I highly doubt he would choose Denver, "considerations" or not.

kobe playing in carmelo's shadow?? LMAO, kid your crazy!!!

kobe would be the franchise player for any team he goes too, shit here in LA, we consider KOBE our franchise player. Carmelo doesnt even get the publicity he deserves now, if kobe joined denver, he would become oblivious to the media.

    Thats where you are wrong

As good a player Kobe is, Denver is Melo's team and will be for a long time.

thats nonsense bro, if Kobe were to go to Denver, it would easily shift over to him being the franchise, they would build around KOBE, carmelo would be a good compliment to kobe's game.

Its like Shaq being traded to toronto, u think vince is still going to be the franchise? of course not, shifts to shaq...Tim duncan being traded to dallas, he will be the focal point......the only player i could say they will NEVER have someone else build around is lebron in cleveland. hes established himself there...aside from that, considering kobe and shaq are the two most dominant players in their respected positions in the league...no team will turn down taking these guys as their franshise players, and u could bet your bottom dollar any GM would say the same thing. You would be crazy not to.

And why not? why cant kobe and carmelo share the court? Kobe could be a mentor to carmelo, make him better all around, those two could do great things together. With kobes mentality, carmelo could learn some things.

He's probably testing his options. I personally would want him to leave, as intimidating as a complete and healthy Lakers roster is, they all, except GP need possession of the ball. Once Malone is back they wouldn't be able to split the time amongst, Malone, Shaq and Kobe.

If he left, they could get TMac and work on Rush and Cook. Who can the Nuggets afford to give? 'Melo would get invaluable experience and someone to help with the offensive load, plus Kobe is really great at stealing.

You are comparing totally difference situations, Carmelo is a rookie who is one of the best scorers in rookie history. He is a future superstar, taking the label of franchise player away from him is impossible to do, It will always be Melo's team not matter who they sign. They focus is to build around Melo and see what happens after that. Whoever Kiki signs will be 2nd fiddle to Carmelo. Thats the way it will always be. Same situation as Lebron James, no one is ever going to be the go to guy ahead of him in Cleveland. He wouldn't allow it.

what your saying is honestly the most uneducated comments ive ever read in my life. Kobe will not be second fiddle to carmelo, and its ridiculous that you even STATE THAT.

Carmelo is scoring well cause hes shooting 40% from the field, which is horrible, for a rookie, for a veteran, for anyone. And if history proves me right, there have been PLENTY of rookies averaging that many points in recent years....allen iverson, amare stoudemire was at 16 i believe, Dwayne wade currently, i mean shit man i dont want to list it, you could look that up yourself. He is not a GOOD PASSER, AT ALL, hes just a pure scorer, how could you build a franchise around a pure scorer? no one credits the rest of the team for whta they have done, but carmelos 19 points on 40% shooting and 6 rebounds get all the credit...until he raises his assists, fg percentrage, and drops the number of turnovers he commits per game, ill consider him a good athlete.

And what you are saying is clearly the voice of a homer

Carmelo is not only a scorer, he is a good rebounder and no matter what you want to think he is a good passer. The ball handling is mainly down to Andre Miller, his assists will rise as he continues to develop, Carmelo wouild not be the 2nd fiddle after being told this is his team, please wake up and take off those blind glasses you seem to be wearing.

Do I really need to bring up Kobe's stats from his rookie year, Mcgrady's, Garnett's e.t.c

His shooting % is down because as for any rookie shots aren't always easy to come by. In a few years I expect his FG% to climb to at least 46%, he will also develop his outside shot like any top scoring rookie would.

Denver have no plan for Melo to become the 2nd option to anyone not even Kobe. Which is why Kobe will not be going to Denver, he wants the spot light which he will not have with the Nuggets no matter what you would like to think.

lol funny u say that considering KOBE ONLY PLAYED 15 minutes his ROOKIE GAME AS OPPOSED to carmelos 40??? and how many shots does carmelo take a game as opposed to kobe playing 15 minutes and not even getting shots? Kobe came into an established laker team...its a WHOLLEEEE different story buddy...u should really study your laker history.

You don't think I know he played a lot less minutes? of course he did. But the point is he took plenty of bad shots because of plain fact he was a young guy and a rookie, look how much he has improved his jump shot since his first few years in this league, same goes for Mcgrady. Carmelo will do the same which will make him even more dangerous year after year. So no I don't need to study my Laker history I have seen a lot of great teams from L.A come and go, so before you make such a statement make sure you know what my whole point was in bringing up Kobe's rookie year.

Melo is a future superstar in this league, he isn't being 2nd fiddle to no one. Which is the exact reason why Kobe is not going to play for the Nuggets. Kobe's best option would be with the Clippers, not only would he be the go to guy but he would have all-star type players beside him. Elton Brand could be the best 2nd option in the NBA If Kobe decides to make that move.

i could see where your coming from, as far as him establishing himself in the future...let me get off this topic and ask you something totally different....

dont you think the duo of kobe and carmelo would tear the league up? With kobe's veteran leadership, im just saying, he could teach carmelos some great things...and they could honestly contend for a title.

That duo would be very dangerous and would be for the next 7+ years but I always like to have a dominant swingman and a low post scorer. In this era you need a dominant post player to win a championship. If Nene turns into a 17 and 10 player which some think he can be, then yeah I would be in favour of the Melo/Kobe duo as It could certainly give teams all kind of problems on the wing.

nene could be a definine 17-10 guy, every team needs a dominant big man, most of the time it ends up being a forward rather then a true center, just because Good true centers are so hard to come across....but i dont necessarily believe in that theory...the only reason people say that is becuase Shaq is in the league, but once shaq retires, you wont really need a dominant big man to win a ring...i mean new jersey took tim duncan and spurs to 6 games in the finals, where is there big man? (kenyon martin doesnt count)

Anthony is the best player on the Nuggets but he probably isn't even top-25 in the league individually. If they actually got ANYONE in the top-10, Kobe included, that person would become their franchise player. Carmelo will still get his but make no mistake, if you're not the best player on your team, you're not the franchise player.

ah see all this controversy? same out there...it will be Melo's team for a long time , Kobe wants his own team. Kobe is better than Melo , you can't compare their rookie season not only because Kobe didn't play enough minutes but Kobe didn't get college experice PERIOD.

They won't be together in the same team , same with LeBron , T-Mac won't end up there.

I hope Kobe ends up in a team where he can do all himself to see if he is better than T-Mac.

Not even KG could do it alone....

    oh and btw ,

I agree with KrazyGreen and ANiMuS on this one, if Kobe were to go to Denver, it would easily shift to his team. Melo is just a rookie, and has been the man for the Nuggets this year, and still would probably be just an equal piece to Kobe as the franchise player, but at the end of the day Kobe is by far the better and proven player, with more experiance.

Anyways, I'm going to get into details. Kobe is just saying things, most of these teams he probably isn't even considering, just putting a word out so the media will stop surrounding him with a bunch of questions. You can see how he talks how good he feels about the situation. Every time he's like, "they wouldn't mind having me? Well thats great", with a big smile. He's just enjoying the time of his name being out there as a possible signing to another team. I wouldn't take that stuff seriously.

As much as I respect Kobe and his skills, but I have to agree with AllNet that it will always be Melo's team. Why?

Melo's just starting his career and he's already showing that he can handle a team for a looooooong time. They would want to build players around him so that the team will be set for a loooooooong time. If they build around Kobe, He'll have to retire way before Melo (barring any injuries) so the Nuggets would have to re-build again on a now older Melo. Get my point?
