Anyone know why Marion was only played 24 minutes (I can only read the boxscore from where I'm at)? Were they just giving Casey and Z minutes? Is there any evidence that Z can shoot from the perimeter? I seem to remember Peja saying he needed to work on it. Man, what a relief to end the skid. Sonics? Maybe we'll be scouting Brent Barry while we are at it. I want Barry and Clark and Camby as our free agents. That would solve all our needs. Plus we'll have Lampe and maybe Kosta maturing in the wings. I looked at the schedule and it seems like we've already played most of the eastern games we should have won. I'm gonna guess six more wins, on the conservative side of things. Dice put in some solid minutes and Casey did very well, I was happy to see. Z needs more minutes to get out of his post-injury slump.
Marion hurt his ankle... not sure how severe though, it didn't look to be too bad, but then again neither did the Amare one that kept him out 9 games, so I have no idea. Amare completely dominated the game... he embarressed Mutombo! Surprisingly he didn't foul out, normally when he plays agressive (like usual) the refs call a foul a minute on him, and although the calls COULD have gone against him, the refs let it go (in Amare's case). White had another solid game, not sure what his box score was, but I'm sure his performance was better than his numbers. Zarko hasn't been hitting too many shots, then again he hasn't been able to get into stride barely playing any minutes anymore. Most of his minutes were garbage minutes because it was a blowout! I think Phoenix has a great shot to win 10 of the last 23 games, they've done well against Houston and Dallas the last 2 years, so although they are "Western Powerhouses" the Suns have a shot against them, and have a shot against the Eastern teams. Sacramento, Minnesota, Denver, San Antonio, and even Utah will be hard to beat though.
I'm pretty happy to finally get to view a national tv win! That was great except for the scary bit in the 4th where they slowed doen and let it go to 4. Amare and Marion and JJ seemed to get a good balance of touches. Eisley's finally whooping up and barbosa had a good game too. I just wish Z would get his act together. 2 fouls in 1 minute? Somehow I missed that. He should be in there with Casey relieving JJ and Marion together some in the 2nd and 3rd. Satisfying to see them hold a lead for so long.
