<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">......Somebody asked Williams if he looked at Grunwald and worried that he'd be similarly hobbled in 10 years. "Ten years might not even get here," he said. "If I can never walk again because of what I love to do, that's a chance I'll take. I'll die on the court. That's what I want to do. That's how I want to play." There's perhaps no starker contrast in NBA constitutions than the one between Raptors Carter and Williams. Carter is the middle-class momma's boy who has a reputation for collapsing at the hint of contact. Williams is the inner-city tough guy who often staggers through games in a manner that suggests he's one step away from his career's crippled end. Said Williams yesterday: "I played when I was hurt when I was young. I play when I'm hurt now. (Basketball's) the only thing I ever loved."</div> Just an article about Alvin Williams being Alvin Williams. This is why I am such a fan of his. http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...ol=970081562040
I really admire Alvin Williams. He is my definition of clutch and effort. Not to mention he is an unselfish baller. He plays 31.1 mpg, yet he'll remain hard working and clutch till the end of the game. He's not the all-time #2 assist leader for the Raptors for nothing. 4.1 apg, that's almost five, the number seems minute but the smallest difference can make the biggest change. He's a real hero.
^ Consistent? No way. (Not this year at least) Hard-working? Definitely...one of the most hard-working and dedicated players in the NBA without question. Hopefully, his surgery will take away all of the constant nagging pains he's been having this and last season.
Umm.. He may be tough, but just because he loves the game and has a passion for it - doesn't mean he should be allowed to play through injuries. Think about it, Do we let Blind drive??
