man...i wish they would play him more. hes probably the second best player on the team and hes still coming off the bench...doesnt make much sense.
He's selfish, and terrible on defense. It seems as though his teammates don't like him at times. The man doesn't fit in with any team in the NBA right now, because no team wants a guy like him. I doubt playing him more would help the team to win any games. What I really don't understand is that Ainge says he wants to rebuild the team, go in a new direction, but he trades for Ricky Davis? What direction is this?
I don't think I've thanked you guys for taking him off of our hands yet. Ricky has a nice jumper and terrific physical skills, but he's selfish and has no basketballl IQ. He choked away countless games for the Cavs with his play in crunch time where he'd routinely dribble the ball off his leg, throw passes out of bounds, force up shots with plenty of time left on the shot clock, etc. In my opinion he will either be a good player on a bad team, or a role player on a good team for the rest of his career. He just doesn't have his mental game up to the level of his physical game. He's young still, but he's incredibly stubborn. Whenever he'd get benched for taking wild shots for the Cavs, he'd come back in and would go out of his way to pass the ball every time even when he had a good look, seemingly just to spite the coaching staff. He could become a very good player one day, but I doubt it.
Im sorry to say but Ricky Davis defines crap in a bucket. You could argue this all day but its blatently obvious .Enough said.
well id at least like to see them play the younger guys more...having walter throw up 3s all the time isnt going to help us improve the young players. ricky really hasnt been taking as many shots as he has in the past...but i guess people just dont like him.

As a Cavs fan, the #1 thing I HATED about Ricky was the way he played down the stretch. If a game is within reach with under 3 minutes left it is now "Ricky Time" in his mind and he tries to take over the game with his out of control style. Then he would get to the line and was NOT clutch. I can't belive Ainge actully gave us solid players for this guy, he's never gonna live that down.
Ricky put up great numbers last year for the simple fact that The Cavs SUCKED last year. He was the Cavs only offensive option and only person that was worth touching the ball. GM's saw that and instantly saw potential. When big tymers come around, Ricky is not the man. He knows it and everyone knows it. It's not that he is selfish, or has a low hoopin IQ, it's just the man needs to know his role. He needs a good coach to disapline him. The guy had way too many coaches and he doesn't brush up to just anybody.
Ricky made history for a Celtic yesterday. He's the first Celtic to do a 360 in a game. Wow they had Nique for a lil while, but he was kinda old already. So, Ricky did it. He kinda did a mini windmill during the 360 too. That's first time i've ever seen him do that in a game.
The one thing I will always remember about Ricky Davis is throwing it off his own basket to get another rebound for a triple-double, thats selfish, I hate the way the guy plays and acts. He slowed up on the dunk last night just to have the 360, it was a sick dunk though.

Great dunk by Ricky last night and though boring for a while it ended up being a great game. One thing I have to disagree with that some people said earlier in the thread. Ricky is not a bad defensive player, when he focuses he's probably the Celtics best on ball defender. Did anyone else see the March 1st, Magic game, he shut down TMac. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Ricky accepted the challenge in the fourth quarter of guarding Tracy McGrady, and I think he is the one that ignited our defense. We had problems with (McGrady) in the third, and Ricky stepped up in the huddle and said, 'Hey, I got him, leave me one-on-one with no help.' The guys were proud of him on that, and it just got contagious." -- G/F Paul Pierce, in the March 2 Boston Herald, crediting teammate G/F Ricky Davis for his work on guarding the Magic F Tracy McGrady in a March 1 Celtic victory</div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting T Streets:</div><div class="quote_post">He is the first ever to do it in a celtics jersey</div> Yeap, heard that on ESPN last night, you know how they keep track of absouletly everything. Not really surprising, Kedrick had his chance with all the hops he got, but it's amazing how Kedrick doesn't atleast constantly throw down power dunks. Anyways, Ricky is in the history books.
Ricky Davis has his problems, but if there's one thing that's NOT in question it has to be his ability to score the ball. When Ricky Davis gets the shots and gets the minutes there's no doubt he can get the job done. Last season for Cleveland when he was a starter he averaged 20 points per game while shooting 41% from the field. I think Ricky can contribute alot more on offense granted more minutes, but it's understandable if he doesn't receive those minutes with guys like Jiri Welsch and Pierce on the roster. In Ainge's defense, there were plenty of reasons to make this trade. Ainge wants Boston to be a fastbreak style team, Ricky Davis is going to be able to suit very well in that type of system. Boston also got a draft pick and Chris Mihm from Cleveland, Mihm has played great since arriving in Bean Town. Mihm's not only a better player than Battie, but he's younger, he makes less money, and he isn't injury prone like Battie. Boston got a better center, a draft pick, they free'd up some cap space, and they got a young, talented, fastbreak player in Ricky Davis for only 5 million per season. I personally like the move...
Ricky can play very good on the ball defense, but get him in a picka dn roll and forget it, so many times he just opened a lane for the player to dribble straight to the hole. That is why him and Miles had to go, terrible defense.
^^^^The reason why Miles had to go was not only that he brought terrible defense but that he brought nothing to the team...Ricky does/did score well with time on the court but he had to go to free up Lebron more.
Actually Miles isn't a bad on transition defense. He would run and try to swat every lay up. That's what he brought, as well as excitement.
Ricky would be a great defender 1 game. MIA for the next 5. Can defend, but cant concentrate for long spans. He has ability, but his head is a worry!
He tried and the inbetween and messed up, but followed it with a windmill. That's pretty confident, I would've just laid up after blowing that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 30 standing ver:</div><div class="quote_post">I would've just laid up after blowing that.</div> Than again your not Ricky Davis People are going to castigate Ricky Davis for that blown dunk left and right. It's unfortunate too because Ricky Davis had a great game and they almost defeated The Lakers coming off a game just last night in which they defeated New York. Yet the storyline for Mr.Rick Davis will be the blown dunk. My personal opinion is when your in a close game, especially against The Lakers, trying a through the legs dunk is pushing it. Ricky can throw down some explosive dunks, but perhaps trying a dunk that's so difficult to complete wasn't the greatest of ideas. I don't believe the guy should be slammed for his actions though, he's improved on his characters vastly since the trade and he's certainly came a long way since the infamous triple double incident.
