No problem, by the way did you enjoy an early start to your off season last year? It's also weird that after you got Battie, Williams and Brown it didn't work out and you ended up trading them, while we still kept Davis!

Thanks for giving us Davis, I hope Cleveland will someday bounce back.

Just to let you know celticsflyfe, you're responding to a thread that happened in March. There's no need tobump up a thread this old, just start another thread on Ricky.

Well Battie ultimately became Drew Gooden, who is Boozers replacement. He'll be a pretty good replacement. So essentially, they got Gooden for trading away Davis, pretty good upgrade IMO. Of course, this would not have happen had Boozer stayed true to his word.

Most of this thread is a great example of how the National Media can create a bed rep for a player, and people will buy into it. It's all caused by two or three dumb things that Ricky has done in his career. He has never played on a good team since he has been logging significant minutes, thus he has never recieved any attention from the National Media for any positive things he has done. The past two years, the only time National Media outlets (such as ESPN) would even mention his name was when he did something foolish. The triple double incident, the missed dunk, and the supposed fighting with Paul Silas are all anybody who doesn't follow his career had heard about him. I fell for it, and so did most of you. But I can say that I was wrong about him. He is a very talented player who just gets over excited sometimes. As he gets older, he will become much more mature and it wouldn't surprise me to see him as an All-Star.

As for the rumored problems he had with Paul Silas, I can't get myself to buy into him doing that. What is the prime objective of all media outlets in the country? Also, What is the prime objective of the Cavaliers? --The answer to both of the questions is to make money. Who will the Cavs make more money off of, Lebron James or Ricky Davis? Who will sell more papers and get more ratings, Lebron James or Ricky Davis? --The answer to both those questions is Lebron James. Now, with the Cavs off to a very slow start last year, who was going to take the blame? Will the Cavs damage the reputation of a player that will do to Cleveland what Jordan did to Chicago? What about the media? Nope. They needed a scapegoat and they chose Davis. He was an easy target. I just find the whole thing hard to believe. They're telling us that the same guy who has no problem at all backing up Jiri Welsch, bitched and moaned to his coach about not being the number one option? I don't buy it.
