Sorry guys, somebody has got to say it. Paxson has taken a terrible franchise on the brink of death to a future playoff regular. Look at the moves Kemp (enough said) Boozer in 2 Mcginnis Lamond Murray gone Lebron (not that he had a lot to do with that) The celtics/davis deal Can someone please shoot him some props! I'm surprised by his success, but he definitely deserves to get GM of the year. The salary he's dumped, along with the moves he's made this season alone qualify him for consideration. I'm not sold on him completely though. This off season will show me what type of committment he's going to make to the fans and the players to bring us a winner soon! We've gotta keep LeBron though, sign him to a longterm contract when it's time, and sadly thats what people will remember him by if he doesn't.
That is right, Paxon's best work is yet to be done (or not done) We have the superstar, we have a center, we have Carlos Boozer. It is up to Paxon to keep these guys happy and put the right pieces around them. LeBron is sure to draw some interest by himself, so he can make Paxon's job a little easier. Bottom line, show LeBon that you will do what ever it takes to win a title, if not, he will bolt.
I'm not too sold on Paxson. We basically acquired Lebron as a result of his incompetence. Boozer was a good draft pick, but what about Langdon, Diop, Mihm, etc. Also, they way he handled the Clippers/Miller deal and may have cost us Lamar Odom looks bad for him. Making it publicly obvious that Ricky was being shopped to any and everyone was a bad move. The deal ended up working out all right, but it could have cost us severely since teams knew that we were desperate to move him. He had done a very poor job up until the moves this season. I'll wait and see if we can bring some free agents over the summer before I start praising him.
Paxon needs to bring in an offensive buddy along with LeBron. Great players can't do it alone. We need a "Scotty Pippen" a "Robert Horry" or even a "Doug Christie" type of player along side with our chosen one. Until that happens, I will give big ups to Pax.
