    Dion Glover to the Raptors?

According to the NY Daily News, and my Fan 590 update, the Raptors are expected to sign SG Dion Glover. Iv'e watched him this season, and can tell you that he hustles for loose balls, is a strong/physical defender, good at driving to the basket, and has a good outside shot. He's kinda like Mo Pete, but more consistent. Read the excerpt from the article here :

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">BAKER RISING: Vin Baker's list of suitors now includes Toronto and Philadelphia, while the Knicks' interest in the free agent power forward may be fading, according to a league source. The Knicks continue to maintain that they are monitoring Baker, who was released by the Celtics last week and is in a legal battle with Boston after the club terminated the final two years of his contract worth $35 million. Aaron Goodwin, Baker's agent, said that as far as he knew the Knicks were still in the running.

Toronto needs an inside scoring presence and has serious interest in Baker because the club feels it can make the playoffs. The Raptors are expected to sign G Dion Glover, late of the Atlanta Hawks, today after they lost Alvin Williams to season-ending knee surgery.</div>

That would be great if they got Vin Baker or Dion Glover. I'm I little worried about Baker cause of all his problems, but hes a great player that can really help down low. Glover would give us some more scoring which is much needed. He would take Alvin Williams spot. The spurs just waived Ron Mercer too. I hope they take a look at him before the do anything. He can be an exalent player in the right city. hes averaged 14ppg and 5rpg in his carrer. hes also only 28. But I still like Glover or Baker, they would both help the team. I hope we sign someone.

Not a bad acquistion for the Raptors. Glover can score and he hustles, his main deficiency is that he can be inconsistent. But at the point the Raptors are at, getting Glover would help bigtime.

yo, I just heard on the fan 590 20/20 update that the raptors will announce the signing of Glover and the release of LB Lonny Baxter. I thought LB looked good since losing all that weight, but he can't matchup against most teams. 6'8 PF :|

BTW About Mercer: Yes, he's a much better player offensively and right now I wouldn't argue that we need consistent offensive scorers. Afterall, the game vs the Celtics, the Celts' hardly scored any points in the final 20 minutes, so if the Raptors had the scoring.. who knows. However, He's not good defensively, and I'm not sure if he'd be the best fit for Kevin O'Neill. (Not that he wouldn't be great for us, but you know the way KO is, if one player makes a defensive mistake - no matter how good his offense is , he's going to the bench)

I would love to get Glover or Mercer. At the state we're in with all the injuries they'd be good players to pick up. I don't like the idea of releasing Baxter though.

Yeah, I heard about this. Baxter should not be released, why not release Archibald instead... Baxter can do much more when healthy. But the Glover signing is great!

Im pretty sure they waived him because him and O'Neill haven't been on the same page for a while now. I'm not too concerned because honestly, if a coach does not get along well with a player, they obviously don't respect one another...if LB doesn't respect KO, well then, i wouldnt want a player who doesnt want to play hard for his coach (assuming all of this is true).

And yeah...i would definitely want to sign both Glover & Mercer. Not Baker though.

I really like the signing of Dion Glover. Hes an under rated Guard that can help us with our scoring. He should take alvin Williams's place but will probably score more. Waiving Lonny Baxter is stupid!!! Hes started at center some games when Bosh was out, why would they waive him???

Has any one heard anything about signing Baker or Ron Mercer. I'm a little nervous about Baker cause of all the problems, but he could raelly help us down low. I'd rather have Ron Mercer cause he is a proven scoring and has showed signs of being great. Mercer is still young 28, and would help us we our much needed scoring problem!!! Have any one heard anything about thes 2????????

Good Addition, but he's below average ball handler although he's relativley small ( 6-5 ) !

He's an underrated defender .. so he might help

.. He might contribute in tomorrow's game and get the W ..

nice. glover is good. raps should waive archibald next and sign another big man...vin baker? eddie griffin? those 2 r both available but im not sure whether or not they would be good additions or not. no matter what, the raps next move should be to get a big guy...and not another loser. get a good big man.

Raps don't stop now, get Mercer!!!!!!!Ron Mercer could raelly help the Raps, he is a good shooter that in past years averaged 15+ points. He could boost the raptors, and maybe give them a spark to get them some W. I love the signing of Glover, but the Raps shouldn't stop now, when they are so close to the playoffs.

Has anyone heard any thing about signing Mercer or Baker?????
