Dion Glover is a great pickup... But IMO Baker would help and Mercer would be a good 6th man. LB was released because he was injured i think.

the GM is stupid...everyone liked lonny baxter...he hustled he tryed his hardest and they waived him, when lamond murray wants to leave the team. Anyways Roger Mason Jr. was his best friend, and now they will probably not get the same results they have been getting out of mason jr. because he doesnt trust his organization. At the end I think bradley should've been waived cuz hes useless.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Tomac54:</div><div class="quote_post">Raps don't stop now, get Mercer!!!!!!!Ron Mercer could raelly help the Raps, he is a good shooter that in past years averaged 15+ points. He could boost the raptors, and maybe give them a spark to get them some W. I love the signing of Glover, but the Raps shouldn't stop now, when they are so close to the playoffs.

Has anyone heard any thing about signing Mercer or Baker?????</div>

Vin Baker has to much problems for them to deal with

I hope this time we signed someone capable of getting us into the playoffs, i havent seen glover that much but still ... at least someone for Alvin, it would have been stupid not to sign anyone [IMG]

Very true, Vin Baker has a lot of problems but he could really help our team. I personally wouldn't want him on our team cause of all the problems, but i know he could help if he could fix those problems. But I agree with you kevinducan_21 Vin Baker has to many problems for us to sign him. I would definitely rather sign Ron Mercer who could help with our points problem.

Has anyone heard anythere about signing Mercer?????????

I was watching T.V and the guy said Lonny was released because they had the max active players so they released him to be able to use glover. So in that case they most likely wont pick up mercer [IMG]

Ya thats possibly why they might not, but they could always release Bradley or Archibald or anyone else. Mercer is better then all of those players by far. Also I read on Espn that The Raps are interseted in Vin Baker and have called his agent to have Vin visit Toronto. They said Maimi, New York, and Philli are the other teams that want him. So I think GG is look ing to sign another player so thats why I think that isn't the problem.

Dion is here, Lonny is gone. What next? Now the Raptors frontcourt looks even worse than before, but Glover will make up for Alvin, Vince and Jalen. Raptors look like they're falling back to last season's injury woes.

what was :B's contract?. ARe you implying we should have waived Lammond Murray? Because if you are , it still would have screwed us. His contract is worht alot of money and he would be on our payroll for what is it...2 years longer? for 6 mill?. Currently, they should have wavied Bradley(IMO), but how would that an out in the long run?

Dion Glover looking to make an impact in Toronto (article)

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dion Glover looked at the 10 media members around him yesterday and said, "This is like our crowds in Atlanta." Glover was exaggerating for comic effect, but he still may be overwhelmed today if he hears anyone actually cheering for him when he makes his debut with the Raptors in a game against the Boston Celtics at the Air Canada Centre.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound guard officially became a Raptor yesterday when the injury-riddled team signed him for the remainder of the season. To make room for Glover, the Raptors waived forward Lonny Baxter.

Earlier in the week Glover had asked the Atlanta Hawks to waive him and they obliged.

I thought the Atlanta joke was pretty funny.

Solid addition, Glover is a double-digit scorer. H'ell be able to give the Raptors dopuble -digits in alot of minutes I expect until Vince Carter/Jalen Rose is %100. But I think even if Vince & J Rose was heathly this would have still been a good addition because the Raptors struggle to score even when everyone is 100%, so adding another weapon off the bench would help.

I'm real glad Dion Glover came to Toronto, I always felt he was a solid player. I think he can put up Voshon Lenard-kind of contributions, esp as far as the scoring help goes.

The raptors already had Mason Jr., Jannero Pargo for backups they were doing fine. Dion is a good addition to the raptors but for Lonny Baxter.......HEEEEELLLLLLLLL NO..... The raptors GM is making some stupid mistakes why doesnt he wave michael bradley, or that guy archibald who just eats minutes and doesnt contribute. Jannero Pargo and Roger Mason Jr. were doing fine filling in for Jalen and Alvin, but unless we switch dion to sf there was no point in that signing IMO, only because mopete aint doing so well.
