<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Q Rich3:</div><div class="quote_post"> Kobe needs to take smart shots </div> Exactly. Lakers by 8.
yeah baby the preview is up already... nets are using fast transition game so the Lakes gotta get back to D fast too... to slow their game, the lakes gotta play half court game to slow it, feed shaq and don't let kobe dominate the ball from the perimeter because missing shots are potential good transition for the Nets. Kobe will have to complement Shaq's inside game willingly to get this game. But Bryant is on a mini-torrid stretch, he's scoring 30s nowadays but he is passing more too so I guess Kobe will again dominate the ball. Lakers win by 11, 114-103. And Coach Frank gets his second loss.
The Lakers Defense has shown signs of weakness this season. So Hopefully the Nets can get out & run on them. But even if the Nets do get the fast break game going they are still going to have to make shots in the half court set. Hopefully J. Kidd & Kerry will get it going one the perimeter. And I like K-mart to take advantage of the Lakers inside especially when Shaq isnt in the game. Shaq going to Kill JC as he normally does but as long as J.Kidd & Kerry can find away to limit GP & a red hot kobe, the Nets still have a legit shot at winning the game. Buut they will need point production off the bench from Harris & Rodney Rodgers. I see the Nets win by 5
Lakers aren't playing very good defense lately, but I think Shaq and Kobe are just too dominant to be overcome. Lakers are on a roll, and they win by 3.
I say Nets by 4. Lakers dont play well on back to back nights. If they can stop the fastbreaks i think they can win but i think the nets will just be to much uptempo for them. What about gp v kidd? 2 really good friends go at it.
I wanna say the Nets win this one because of their great play lately, also adding the fact that they are at home. But something is telling me Lakers in this one. I think the Nets will end up leading most of the game, and the Lakers will make a 4th quarter push to take it. However, New Jersey is a type of team that will take advantage of poor defense. I think they'll exploit that in the first half, but like today I expect the Lakers to make adjustments and start playing better team D. With that being said, my prediction goes to the Lakers by 4. Payton/Kidd will be an interesting match-up as well, it will be fun to watch those 2 go at it if GP is given the oppourtunity. All Lakers need to do is feed the ball to Shaq down the stretch of games instead of settling for outside shots, and I think our execution would be a lot better in the 2nd half.
I think we can pull off an upset in this one, I don't think many people expect us to win this one and I'll go against everyone and say they'll pull off an upset. Lakers by 2
I think Kobe will come up big, again. Lakers by 4. EDIT - Woah, my calculations are way off looking at the game now. The Lakers are winning by 70 - 49, isn't that surprising. And Kobe looks for another triple double, 8pts - 6reb - 10ast. I expected more for kobe's points though.
Now this was a solid game from LA. Unselfish, balanced offense, and a defense that forced 41% shooting from the opponent. It's about time we started seeing the latter.

We pretty much locked this game up early. Shaq dominated inside as usual, Kobe actually played an unselfish game, and it seemed like Payton was able to do what he wanted this game, offensivley. We managed to play some solid defense, while also getting some production out of the bench today. Good win.
Uhm, I hope Kobe gets his shooting touch back soon. Either that, or at least work on taking much smarter/open shots.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kobe Krazy:</div><div class="quote_post">Uhm, I hope Kobe gets his shooting touch back soon. Great Game For Kobe So Far. Except his shooting. I was gonna says Nets By 5. But now that i see the score ill change that to Lakers by 14.

I think I actually saw some defense from this team today. Its about time. Now hopefully it will become a habit
Excellent performance by our Lakers this afternoon as we went into East Rutherford New Jersey and just dominated the Nets. Did this team look like a team that won 15 out of the last 16 games? The Lakers just went in there and handled their business. The scoring was well balanced. Shaq 19, Kobe 11, Payton 16, the second leading scorer on the team today. Cook 10, and surprisingly Horace Grant with a decent 14. Our defense was just amazing. We buckled down and held the Nets to just 83 points. Now if the Lakers can do this on a consistent basis for the remainder of the regular season, we're in good shape. 7-1 so far in the second half, and I think now we're on to Atlanta.
I want to see Kobe do more cutting or at least involving himself in the triangle. A lot of his shots come from posting up or taking a jumper off an isolation. If Shaq hasn't established position 10 ft from the basket, just give it to him when he's 15' away and start setting picks for cutters.
