<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ORLANDO -- Tracy McGrady, one of the preps-to-pros pioneers in the NBA, marvels at the ease with which LeBron James deals with all the scrutiny and hype surrounding his rookie season.

But that said, McGrady doesn't feel that James should win the NBA's Rookie of the Year award. Instead, McGrady said that if he had a vote, he'd cast it for Denver small forward Carmelo Anthony.

"In my opinion it's got to be Carmelo," McGrady said. "I was watching him on television playing the Lakers and he's just the better basketball player. Now, LeBron is a better athlete. I'm not taking anything away from LeBron. But to me Carmelo can score in many more ways." </div>

Last time I checked there was more to a player other than scoring. Mcgrady is just letting his mouth run off again.

He's still hurt Lebron and his Cavs burned the Magic in OT.

Yet another McGrady quote to write off and ingore... [IMG]

Melo plays a much different role compared to Lebron. It's crazy to fault Lebron for not 'scoring' like Melo. Rebounds, assists, steals and hustle plays must mean nothing to McGrady.

Maybe he doesn't think it's Melo either, what about Wade? What about T.J. Ford? See it isn't just a 2 man race this year. Anyone can take it home this year. Let's not make this into a Melo/Lebron who's better debate.

^McGrady stats that Melo can score more ways than LeBron can. Of course a player like TMac would think that offense is the most important thing.

Carmelo can score in so many way..... yet he averages fewer points per game then LeBron?

McGrady's opinion means nothing to me. What has he done other then a few first round exits and phantom back injuries?

Cavaliers won the game, that's the reason why he's saying this! [IMG]

Funny T-mac said this after they two teams played last night, but Bron still dropped 30 on them lol but reading the article and seeing what Lebron had to say about the award, one word comes to mind about this guy

    Classy

Shame you can't say the same for Mcgrady.

T-Mac is only sayin this stuff because the cavs have been gettin the better of the Magic and lebron has been playin well against the magic.I think another reason is T-mac is mad the rookie is leading his team to the play-offs and T-Mac isnt.

lol I dont think the Cavs will make the playoffs and I agree with T-Mac , Melo is better ...at the end they ARE in a playoff spot right now...Cavs can only hope and try to get in the playoffs while the Nuggets only have to maintain their run.

I think Wade will take the Award just so there is no controversy between Melo and Bron which I find very sad. Unless Melo plays great in the playoffs and go far until let's say quater finals...and lose in a 7th game , he might get the award.

If Wade wins the Rookie of the Year, the NBA will have no credibility whatsoever. He's not even in the running. Sure, he's put up some nice numbers, but he's not even on LeBron's level.

Cavs turn around should be enough to crown LeBron.

It pisses me off that they compare a FORWARD to a GUARD. LeBron averages 21, and Melo averages 20. Melo has a better shooting pct. though. Both haul down 6 rebounds a game. What seperates them is the assists. Melo gets 3 a game, and Bron gets 6. Also, they both get around 1 or 2 steals a game. They play completely different styles, yet they are so close in the stats.

I have a feeling that we will have Co-ROY's.

    Seems like the best alternative.

Wade is the third best rookie by far but he isn't quite in the class of LeBron and Melo just yet.

He's been injured too much to be a 3rd co-roy.

If Wade would have had a healthier season, fact is he is up there with Bron and Melo.

Bron is the best though, sorry, I hate saying it because I hate to look biased.

Too bad the Cavs and the Heat have been heading up in the standings, while Denver looks to be headed out of the playoffs.

I would personally take Bron first, Wade 2nd, then Melo 3rd. Bron and Wade are so much more versatile and better defenders, plus they score and create for other people.

Huge thread here fellas, I see it already, so let's be nice to one another.

I would take all 3 rookies over McGrady, Bryany, and many other stars though. That tells you how damn good I think they are.

Yeah, this thread is going to be long, much because T-Mac said that Melo deserves it more than Melo, and we got to argue about it, but also because we got to prove that LeBron is rookie of the year, with no doubt. [IMG]
    Keep it nice guys!
