Heat @ Nets The second quarter is almost over and we're playing fantastic. Dwyane's pump fake is DEADLY, EJ and Skip have both hit huge triples, Caron should be a safety for the Dolphins, and Loren Woods is a monster on the offensive glass... I think that just about covers it . We're up 48-38 going into the half, can't get too comfortable though, time and time again we have given up big leads down the stretch in the second half, hopefully we'll be able to keep it together. Dwyane is on fire with 11 points,6 boards and 5 dimes going into the half. He is on track for getting a triple double, hopefully he can pull it off and we'll leave NJ with the W. EJ also has 14 points, Caron has 12, Skip has 6, Odom has 2 points and 4 boards, and Loren has 4 boards. Unfortunately both Brian and Lamar got into foul trouble, but they'll be good to go in the second half. ---------------- Games over, Heat lose 92-86 . <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Today was the first time we got to see Dwyane Wade and he dominated the game for the first two quarters," Jefferson said of the Miami guard who scored only four of his 15 points in the second half. "Once we figured out his game, we started playing him a little different and we were a little more successful again him." Eddie Jones scored 21 points and Caron Butler added 18 for Miami, which has dropped two in a row following a four-game winning streak. "We just didn't make any plays," said Miami's Lamar Odom, who fouled out with five minutes left after scoring only 10 points. "I had to watch almost the whole game (because of foul trouble). At the end of a game like that, they had more experience than us."</div> More here. Box score.
3rd quarter is over, Heat are up 62-61. That huge block by Brian Grant which resulted in Wade saving it and then Caron getting the bucket, wow, what an amazing play. Odom played less than 1 minute in the 3rd quarter getting a BS offensive foul within the first few seconds of the 3rd quarter. EJ has 18, Caron has 16, Dwyane has 15 points 7 boards and 6 assists.
4 minutes left in the game, Odom just fouled out and both Brian and Udonis have 5 fouls. Nets are up 78-75... this isn't good.
Nets win 92-86. There were a number of things that sealed our fate; Wade's career high 10 turnovers, Odom's foul trouble, sending the Nets to the line 49 times, Grant's worthless presence on the floor amassing only 1 point , 1 assist, and 1 rebound despite being in the game for 30 minutes, the list goes on. Also, the Nets had more than DOUBLE our points in the paint with 34 as opposed to the Heat's 14. We just can't seem to keep things together when it counts most. Box score
K-mart block on D.Wade that sealed the win was sick. Its seems like every win its K-mart who makes the big impact play that puts us over the hump. I think we did a good job of being aggressive even in the Half court set. Against the t-wolves the Nets settled for jummpers way to much in the half court. But today we went toward the basket & went to the free throw line 49times, And we kept Lamar Odom in foul troble all game before he fouled out in the 4th,which was a huge advantage for us. But the Nets getting to the line was the difference in the game. D.Wade is tuff off the dribble, he had the Nets in trouble all day off the bounce. But he also turn the ball over alot. So it even out. Entertaining game to watch. But Iam happy with the Nets W.
Man... this isn't looking good for us. We need to get a comfortable cushion in the playoff race and these loses (although to high-quality teams) aren't good for us. As of now, we sit just infront of cleveland, boston and philly. We need the Ws to pass T.Dot and NYK.
How about that block by KMart huh? For those of you who missed it, he just flew in the air and plucked Wade's shot from the peak of its trajectory. Was it a steal or a block?
