I just thought it would be fun to revisit some of the worst (or best if viewed from the other side) trades in NBA history. One of the more recent ones i can think of was Dirk Nowitzki for Robert Traylor. I'd like to here some opinions. ooooh, how about Dale Davis for Jermaine O'Neil
Otis Thorpe for future 1st rounder (Darko), that was pretty bad. Also those ones you posted. BTW why is this in the rumor mill?
(bad trade for whoever got tractor traylor)Tractor Traylor for Nowitzki being the worst ive seen or heard of in my day and the best Kobe for Vlade Divac(no disrespect) Vlade's great but Kobe is much more than Vlade has been in his NBA career(good trade for Lakers).
Seattle traded GP to Milwaukee for Ray Allen and Flip Murray. Payton was good there but he eventually left Mil for nothing... had he stayed, it'd be still crazy because flip is developing into one of the nest guards in the L...
How bout Vince Carter for Antwan Jamison,Pat Garrity and Shawn Marion for Steve Nash and stephon marbury/penny hardaway and antinio mcdyess and howard eisly
The trade for Kobe was Vlade and Eddie Jones - remember Kobe was an un-proven 18 yr old just out of high school, I don't think that you are giving Vlade & Eddie enough props both are very good players I think we should call this trade EVEN!
I don't thimkl you can count Draft night trades, unless its a complete blowout from the beginning. I mean Antawn and VC? who woulda known? and Is it really that good now?
how about the twolves and bucks trade with cassell? basically milwakee got nothing back for cassell...an allstar.
Ben Wallace for Grant Hill. Grant isn't a big help for Magic and look at Big Ben now, he's an all-star.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">Brand for Tyson Chandler....Brand has been great, Chandler has yet to do anything...</div> He's what 21, a prep-to-pros player, be patient, he has alot of talent and is a hard worker
The Grant hill trade is taking to much heat!!! Hill, while he was healthy wuz a perrenial all-star, a future hall of famer and a darn nice guy, who coulda predicted what was going to happen. I mean, he's such a smart player that coming back at 75% would have done wonders for the entire city of Orlando (not to mention the magic). Ayway I think there have been way more blunders in the signing of players to long term deals (or the failure to sign players to long term deals).
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ohio-so.cal:</div><div class="quote_post">The trade for Kobe was Vlade and Eddie Jones - remember Kobe was an un-proven 18 yr old just out of high school, I don't think that you are giving Vlade & Eddie enough props both are very good players I think we should call this trade EVEN!</div> I think the then Charlotte-LA trade was Vlade straight up for Kobe prior to the 1996-1997 season... Eddie wasn't included, he was shipped to Charlotte in 1998-1999 season for Glen Rice in another trade between both teams
Who named the Jamison for Carter trade? While the first few years, it seemed that the trade was uneven for the Warriors as they got the raw end of the deal, Jamison was one of the team's hardest workers and biggest contributors to their resurgence as an up-and-coming team last year. Meanwhile, Carter was injured frequently as his team struggled. I think this trade was even in the long run.
