This game is too lopsided. Look for the Hawks to thrash the Lakers tonight. JKZ.

Who we kidding here, it'd be a disappointment if the Lakers beat the Hawks by less than 15.

I belive that the lakers can win this one with no sweat. Even without Kobe, so lakers by 13.

Lakers are down by 8 in the 2nd Quarter with about 2 minutes left until half time. The Hawks have already forced 7 turnovers. Cause for concern, NO, but the Lakers need to stop playing to the level of their competition and take care of business early against much weaker teams.

It's halftime at Phillips Arena with the score 42-39 Hawks. Here goes the Laker statistics so far:

    Leading Scorer:
    Shaquille O'Neal 5/9 10 pts

Gary Payton 4/10 9 pts OUCH (And he complains about not being involved with the offense?)

Slava Medvedenko 1/3 6 pts including 4/4 from the free throw line

    Kareem Rush 1/5 5 points

Clearly a bad first half, but if the Lakers can continue to get the ball to Shaq in the soft Atlanta frontcourt, they should be fine. They have to stop allowing the Hawks easy shots and to buckle down on defense.

Lakers are only up 1 with just under 3 minutes to go in the game. A lot closer than most people I think expected. Hawks are shooting a miserable 38% from the floor. That has killed them beyond belief. I don't think Payton can complain after tonight either. He's got a triple double with 23 points off 11/20 shooting, 10 boards, and 10 assists. Shaq's right behind him with 21 and Rush has 13. Lets see if the Lakers can pull this one out.

I wouldn't say impossible, almost no team can have a perfect record. They have to lose sometimes.

Well, to me, the Hawks pulled off a pretty big upset, and I hope there are no excuses about Kobe.

WTF...I thought you guys were joking around. I even went somewhere because I thought the game wasn't worth seeing. What the hell happend...someone who watched the game...?

It's funny though, I can't even take this loss seriously. NO Kobe and we still lose to the Hawks? Tried to tell ya'll, Kobe is the MAN.

And just for the record, it looks like the Hawks just go around only beating the good teams. After all, they have taken down both Minnesota and San Antonio this year. [IMG]

Don't get so defensive man, you know what he means. Lakers mos def should have won...end of story.

1.0 Gary Payton missed Jump Shot
0.0 LAL Offensive Rebound by Shaquille O'Neal
0.0 LAL Devean George missed Tip-in
0.0 LAL Offensive Rebound by Shaquille O'Neal
    0.0 LAL Shaquille O'Neal missed Tip-in

The times are messed up but I'm sure you would have been on the edge of your seat..

At least GP got a triple double though.

Great game to watch, just a bad ending...for some of us.

Pathetic describes the Lakers all around in this game. You have to give all the credit to the Hawks for fighting until the end and pulling out a nice win. If you are going to point blame look no further than the Laker bench, namely the coaching staff. If they cannot stress the urgency of how important the rest of the games are from here on out, the Lakers are not going to win anything. This stretch of games is the best time to make a move in the rankings because the Spurs and Mavs both have tough schedules this week. The coaching staff did a terrible job of rotating and the costly mistake of putting the ball in Devean George's hands for the final possession? Miserable free throw shooting comes back once again to bite the Lakers in a close game. I just don't understand how you allow a team to shoot under 40% from the field and lose. The good news is Malone will be back for the Utah game, and #8 will be back in the lineup for us.

The Hawks have actually sold out their last 2 games and are aiming for 3 straight sellouts when LeBron comes to Atlanta.

wow this is disappointing for you all huh, it's an upset of course, the hawks did a great job staying in the game while I'd say the lakers lost this game and they gotta blame themselves not every one else...
