Yeah, this guy definetley deserves his extension. He's been a consistent inside force all season long for the Knicks. Looked like he was close to being traded at the deadline, but looks like Isiah feels diffrent about him now. This is a smart move on his part, get these players locked up so you can start building around them. Though KT is 32, he's a big body in the paint, and if the Knicks want to keep up their good play throughout a few more seasons, they have to have him to do so.
This is deserving. Zeke is doing way better than Layden ever has. Kurt Thomas is a great blue-collar worker and is vital for NY's success. But $30 Million sounds too much over 4 years. Guess the Knicks under Thomas is still overspending.
Good news...Thomas has been an integral aspect of the Knicks' success over the past few seasons...a great rebounder and scorer at the 4 spot and provides a toughness and intensity that embodies New York Knicks basketball...glad to hear he's getting rewarded...
Me personally I love that the Knicks are looking to invest in Kurt for a few more years. He has meant alot to the knicks over 7 seasons. He has been their most connsistent bigman. And he needs to get his just due from the Knicks front office. My only question would be is how can the Knicks afford to keep Kurt & then go out to sign Rasheed in the offseason this summer? I dont think they can especially if Rasheed is looking for close to a max contract.
Extension for Kurt, and maybe a trade <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kurt Thomas got his $30 million and Isiah Thomas now has another asset to deal if he so chooses. Yesterday was a win-win for Kurt Thomas and the Knicks as the two sides finalized a four-year, $30 million contract extension for the veteran power forward. Thomas forfeited a potentially bigger payday, had he opted for free agency this summer, but instead chose financial security. The Knicks were eager to get a deal done because it gives them the freedom to trade Thomas this summer.</div> Link
