Alright, I am not sure if you have done this before, but I am going to put my 6 man team (5 starters and a sixth man) out there from the 80s and early 90's, counter it with players for the last 10 years and let's discuss the matchups:

    PG: Magic Johnson
    SG: Michael Jordan
    SF: Larry Bird
    PF: Charles Barkley
    C: Moses Malone
    Sixth Man: Bernard King

Counter my team with players position by position and let's debate!

    Regards

I would start C- Hakeem instead of Moses. Moses can come off the bench with King, other than that the line-up looks great!

I thought this would be a thread about the decline of scoring that started in the 93-94 season. I was wrong, and yeah I would start "The Dream" as well. That line up is unbeatable. Any lineup I could think of, would lose but give them a hard time and lets see.

    PG: Jason Kidd
    SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Grant Hill (triple double Hill)
    PF: Kevin Garnett
    C: Shaq
    sixth man: T-Mac
Lot of lineups I could go with, but like this 1. They got chance cause Barkley admitted that KG is one of the guys who gave him a hard time and Kobe got a Jordan like mentality and sound alike too. Kobe just isn't as athlectic though. Kidd got speed on Magic. Grant Hill of old could do it all and MVP Shaq is the most dominate player. If u put Hakeem in there, then Shaq still gets schooled. Not like David Robinson, but still schooled.

    Good points

I think Bird owns Hill, mentally, which would kill his productivity.
Magic is just too tall for Kidd, and will run him into the ground
Jordan has a killer attitude that Kobe doesn't, he will put 40 on him daily.
Moses can play enough to keep shaq in the 20 range, which is all you can really expect.
Barkley and KG will probably beat the heck out of each other, I do give the advantage to Garnett, but one man does not a team make.
King in his non injured PRIME owns T mac

I say on a run to 21 my team wins 21-15

I'd go with this lineup for the 90's squad. An interesting omission by 30 standing ver- you left Tim Duncan out! You don't leave a 2-time MVP out no matter what. What about Karl Malone? He was the MVP for one season and led his team to 2 finals appearances in a row.

PG: John Stockton (in an all-star team like this, I think there's no one better to distribute the ball)
SG: Kobe Bryant (can't disagree with this one, and not just because I'm a Kobe fan)
    SF: Tim Duncan
    PF: Karl Malone
    C: Shaquille O'Neal
    6th: Kevin Garnett

I agree that this is one of the oddest lineups ever. But hear me out. I just couldn't find a way to leave either Tim or Karl out. Both are arguably the best PFs ever. Also, while you might say that Larry would kill Tim on the offensive end, I say that there is no way that Bird can guard Duncan. The frontline of the modern team, IMO, would own the frontline of the old team, just because of their size, and also the combination of passing skills and scoring ability. The backcourt would be a good matchup- Magic and MJ vs. Stockton and Kobe. I give the slight edge to the oldies, simply because its MJ.

This would be a close game... I have no idea how it'd go down. Neither team would be able to stop the other.
