<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DENVER - The MRI on Jason Kidd's bruised left knee was negative yesterday, revealing only a painful bone bruise.

Still, the Nets aren't sure if Kidd can play tonight against the Nuggets and they are contemplating keeping him on the bench as a precaution. Kidd is listed as day-to-day as the Nets start a four-game Western swing.

"He is in a great deal of pain," interim coach Lawrence Frank said yesterday. "You have to use sound judgment and if a guy is not able to perform because he's in pain you have to shut him down a little bit. If the most prudent thing is for Jason not to play, even if he wants to play, then we have to do the wise thing."</div>

He is still in pain.So he might not play.

Whew. I'd like to see him rest the Nuggets game though.

The sad part is that we dont have a legit backup point, who can fill in for kidd during times like this. Zoran isnt ready yet, & Lucious Harris/Hubert Davis aren't point guards even tho they play minutes at the position. I think this shows that we need to pick up a legit point guard till the end of the year, Rod Strickland just got released from the Magic, he could do the backup job until the end of the season.
