Quote:

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks can extend their winning streak to seven games on Wednesday when they open a three-game road trip against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.

Dallas also played its second consecutive games without rookie forward Josh Howard, who sat out due to a strained right groin.

Minnesota, which is 3 1/2 games in front of Dallas for the lead in the Midwest Division, had a three-game winning streak snapped with a 81-74 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.

The Mavericks have won two of three meetings with the Timberwolves this season and hold a slim 33-32 edge in the all-time series.

Keys to the Game:

Minnesota:

Bang in the post, Dallas dosent have a big enough man to guard on the inside
Do not let anyone get hot from outside
Limit fast break points
Get everyone involved and let the Big Three loose

Dallas

Limit KG's touches
Play the run and gun game.
Get key offensive rebounds
Get to the freethrow line

My Prediction:
This should be a close game. For some reason the Mavs always have a W/L pattren with Minnesota, last time the Mavs won.Plus Dallas are a really bad road team.So the Wolves would want to get revenge for last time. But Dallas has been playing really great lately and Wolves just lost against the Sixers. The wolves will be playing great in this game.I predict this game will be a high scoring game.
The Wolves by 6.

This is going to be a great game. The Wolves need to get the bal to Kg more. Thats why they lost to Phila, they couldn't get KG the ball.

If the Wolves can control the boards they should win the game. If the Wolves are agressive this shouldn't be hard to do. If we get offensive rebounds it will give us another shot at scoring, but most importently help prevent Dallas from getting a breakaway.

This will be a good game, it could go either way, but I'm going to say Wolves win by 7.

Dallas is a horrible road team, so I see the Wolves winning by 4.

There are to be NO EXCUSES tonight. Dallas played last night and we should run them off of the court. Nash isn't playing tonight, and he's their floor general. Howard's got a groing injury, but might play (limited action I would think). Especially if you saw last nights game against the Sonics, they hit their usual off-balance shots, but could have just as easily lost that game. We are an elite team and need to lay the hammer down TONIGHT. Also, the Mavs lead the series 2-1. The Sonics choked horribly at the end of that game and we will not fall into that trap. To prove you are legitimate, you need to win the games your supposed to (one lapse on Sunday), and this is another one. The Mavericks are not a great road team and missing Nash, and maybe Howard who is the one that beat the Wolves in prior meetings this year, should make it crystal clear that they need to mark an "L" after their name for this meeting. Great teams make examples of teams in their situation (and also note that the Mavericks are trying to take our divisional crown from us). Iiit's Showtime.

Let Sam & Spree get off from the jump. Their points & assist are down because coach Flip wants to play the dump the ball down to KG into the post. And let them spot up shoot off of that. But that isnt they Minnny has been winning all year. They must create alot of pick & Roll plays between Sam & KG. And use Sprewell running off of screens & curls, so he can pull up for the mid range jumper or get to the basket, Instead of standing around at the 3pt line. There was no motion in the t-wolves offense against Philly, thats one of the reasons the wolves lost. They need to get motion back into the offense.

Marquis Daniels will be Dallas's starting point guard tonight, an undrafted but talented rookie from Auburn

The Wolves are playing great especially KG like usual, but they are letting Dallas stay to close. They need to keep moving the ball, and getting the boards. If we can keep the lead until half I think we can win this game, but if we are behind at half it will be a very close game.

Olowokand 6-6 thru the 1st half... this game could be a good confident booster... I hope the Wolves feed his sucess to him so he will have more nights like this.

Spree is money from the outside! It's like he can't miss. He is moving up on the list in scoring and all-time three pointers. Great stuff right there.

The T-wolves used alot of ball movement & motion tonight instead of just dumping the ball into KG while everyone stands around, that is why they were able to generate alot of points(and because they were play against the Mavs Defense)
