<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><font size="1">Silas says bench must be more consistent if Cavaliers want chance at making playoffs</font> The Cavaliers' daily media notes are filled with the recent exploits of their starters. There's Carlos Boozer and his seemingly unending line of double-doubles. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, averaging 20.8 points over his past six games. Jeff McInnis, playing so well that ESPN did a feature on him Monday night. LeBron James. What else needs to be said? That's all well and good and the main reason the team has wandered into sight of the playoffs in the downtrodden Eastern Conference. But if the Cavaliers are going to be one of the eight left standing in the very tightly bunched race for the postseason, it is going to take more that just the recent stellar play of the starters. Some serious help is needed from the bench.</div> Full Story
Its true and the Chicago game is a perfect example of that. Our bench doenst consist of bad players, Battie, Wagner, Ollie, are the main men that come off the pine. They all play decent when out there, they just need to up the defense.
Battie has been the only guy stepping up. Kapono's out of body experience against New Orleans does not count.
Ollie has not been himself either, he seems to have slipped into early season form. His mid range shot is not falling, he is not attacking the basket, and he has not been knocking down his FT's like he used to. Ollie has the talent lever to come in against 2nd units and not miss a beat for the Cavs when Jeff is resting.
Ollies performance dropped when J-Mac came along. I feel he might be intimidated by him for some reason.

Maybe it's the more upbeat style that's throwing some of the guys off.
Williams game I could see would be slipping, because he came from a team that was very, VERY slow paced when we got him. That could be the reason it affected him, but Ollie i don't know about. I think that he A) Is not getting the fouls to go his way, and His outside game has never really been good... at all. I think that he might just be in a funk. Williams, I don't really know about, maybe his age is catching up with him? Even though he is 30, that's older for our team, so maybe he just feels old, who knows.
Well the bench certainly answered your call King James. With Nailon aboard, Williams slips nicely back in the lineup with still that punch on the bench. As much as we all say Williams is best suited off the bench, his play has contradicted that thought! Now again we have seen what we are capable of, a bit of consistency is next on the priority list!
