I wonder if the Celtics will sign him? I think he could be a decent player. He's nothing special, but the Celtics could use him maybe.
Cleveland game him every chance to be a decent player, but he failed. I wish the kid luck, cause he could not throw a rock on the ground while he was here.
i haven't seen him play but from what i've seen on NBA recaps he can really shoot it from outside... isn't this what the Cavs are lacking this season? Anyway, maybe it's the only strength he has, the other facets of his game are lacking and McInnis is basically the starting PG, backed by DaJuan Wagner.
No you don't understand, Bremer STUNK in every way, shape, and form. If all he could do were shoot it, the Cavs would not have dropped him mike MLB stock.
Oh, really? I haven't really followed him after he became a Cav... because there's not much news about him too Anyway, it's too bad then for him because he was I think more than an average player in his Boston stint.
We needed Bremer really bad, that is the truth, we just kept playing him and playing him, he could not hit a shot to save his life. He had a 20 point game with 6 3's to start the season for us in a game againt the Kings. After that, 0, zip, NOTHING. Not sure what is going on with him.
I remember reading and article on him about how he was really working on his shot, guess that didn't work out. He played well for them last year but he doesn't fit in with the new team. They already have too many guards.
Bremer was an excellent player when he was here in Boston, for just a rookie he played prety decent, he was a great long range shooter as well. Boston isn't the fit for him currently though. With Chucky playing pretty well right now, and Boston trying to get Marcus Banks some solid minutes so he can develop, I don't think JR would find a spot on the roster. I'd look for him to goto a place like New Jersey or Orlando, New Jersey needs a solid backup and more three point shooting, and Orlando needs tons of help at the Point Guard.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James X3:</div><div class="quote_post">I'd look for him to goto a place like New Jersey or Orlando, New Jersey needs a solid backup and more three point shooting, and Orlando needs tons of help at the Point Guard.</div> I really don't think anybody would pick him up this year, he could be NBDL bound for next year as well. You don't understand, he was really worthless for us this year. Absolutly all he can do on the floor is shoot, and that has failed him. I'm just going off the top of my head but I think he was shooting 23% for 3's. And that includes going 6-6 against Sac in the first game.
6-9 three's vs. Sacramento. 39-137 .285 FGs season 19-66 .288 three's season 13-20 .650 FTs season 403 Minutes in 31 games. I guess he is not a quality NBA player.
Now you see how frustrated Cavs fans were with him. It was not like he was not getting minutes, touches, open looks, time at the one or two spots, we gave him everything. Many Cavs fans were quoted saying we would rather have Newble or Diop shoot it from deep over Bremer.
Bremer was brilliant his first game, but he was god awful from then on out. At times he would struggle to even hit the front rim. It was not a rare sight for him to toss up 2 or 3 airballs in one game. I don't know what happened to him, but I do know that if you are looking for a shooter, he is not your man.
Bremer's problem was he ONLY took 3ball shots. If he stepped inside the line a little bit more and sunk in a few 15 footers a game it would bring in his range.
Bremer better start working out his game to be ready for the summer leagues. If he does find his shot again, he may get back in. He has decent handles and defense, but he needs his shot to fall.
i think J.R Bremer is alright... i havent seen too many of his games but he seems to be o.k... one thing that bummed me out on the whole draft/rookie/guards issue.... is why did boston trade first round pick Troy Bell.. isnt this guy like really awesome.. i remember reading an article on him in slam... and they had big wraps on this guy
^ Lost No Bremer does not seem to be ok, not when it comes to his basketball game. If you were talking about something else, please be more clear.
