<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe got caught up going round the screen, not Allen's fault. Ray was the offensive player, no need for that at all..

A win is a win, and the Lakers grabbed one even without Kobe. They finally hit their free-throws down the stretch!
wow.. foxsports just showed that Kobe replay again.. even more obvious to me this time.. Ray was running toward the guy setting the screen, and the guy with the ball ran into Kobe... You cannot say Ray didn't do that on perpous...

You could have called it an accident if he wasn't holding his arm so tightly. That was no accident, it IS Allen's fault. I'll be rooting for Bruce in the next Seattle vs San Antonio game, I'll tell you that much. Btw I hate Bruce Bowen too.
I won't say it was intentional but after seeing about 8 replays it looks very suspicious. Great close out by the Lakers and some nice free throw shooting by Shaq to lead the Lakers in the win.
Well, Dez and Allnet have been touting Ray Allen as the "Kobe Killer." I just didn't think Allen would take it up to another level.... Hopefully, Kobe won't be out too long, although I think that'll be the case....Los Angeles is on pins n needles right now...I'll update his status if I hear something here, but no word so far...Phil Jackson seemed awfully concerned after the game..Its a shame because Kobe was only starting to play well...
Damn, i cant believe it Kobe hurt again? I couldnt follow the game either, which one was it, the same?
C'mon guys, grow up here. Ray shouldn't have grabbed the arm, but to say he deliberately tried to injure Kobe? The two are good friends, even after watching replays I would say it was in the heat of the battle. Ray's probably sick of being hammered the past few games, tried to assert some physical presence of his own, and Kobe got unlucky. To accuse a guy like Ray Allen of intentionally going out to injure a fellow player and friend is ridiculous. Full credit to Shaq and the Lakers, they were too good down the stretch. How about people focus on the game instead of taking shots?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting the MDE:</div><div class="quote_post">Remind me to chalk that up as another reason to hate RayRay Allen. Little punk better get clobbered when he drives the lane..</div> Sorry, what 'other' reasons do you have to hate Ray? Seems like you can't hack a player who generally does well against the Lakers.
I think sayin' Ray did this on purpose is extremely asinine and uninformed..has Ray ever been like that? No. He's a leading citizen of the NBA and is known for his good sportmanship. Like what was said,he shouldn't have grabbed Kobe's arm but you can't say he did it on purpose. I too feel it was out of frustration of constantly getting hammered and beat on and frustration at the way his team has been this season. I honestly think Laker fans,in general, act this way toward other players so they can have a scapegoat if they don't win it all. When they were all brought together they were immediately hailed as the 2003-04 NBA Champs and from that standpoint their season has been abysmal. Like it or not basketball is a contact sport and as unfortunate as it is,people get hurt and things happen.
IMO, I think Allen pushed Kobe intentionally, but I don't think he meant to hurt him to be honest...Injuries happen, its part of the game...I'm sure Allen wouldn't have pushed him if he knew Kobe was gonna get seriously injured....It's like throwing a elbow...you do it, but you really wouldn't want to connect and seriously injure a guy, <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Supersonic:</div><div class="quote_post">Sorry, what 'other' reasons do you have to hate Ray? He had that locked up pretty tight, if you look at replays you'd notice that. Don't give us that "sick of being hammered" ****, its a whole new game and different situation. Just because he's been complaining about "dirty players" doesn't give him the right to create a dirty play. Next time you watch the replay look closely, look how tightly he grabs Kobe with his left arm, and pulling. Sorry, that doesn't happen by an accident, to the one player who has a bad shoulder, out of all the guys in the league. Good friend, he didn't even seem concerned about it throughout the game. Maybe he'll say something after the game, but I don't even expect that from him. Go ahead you guys keep trying to cover Ray up, if this happened to Ray you know you'd be screaming.
I dont hate Ray at all, just that he kind of hurt Kobes arm, i dont think a good bball player would do that deliberately anyway.

We didn't need one the first three years obviously, and most of us have said all along that San Antonio deserved it last year. Why the sudden need of a scapegoat? One thing like this happens and now we use it as an excuse to not losing? We lose a player to injury and he might be out a few games, what does that have to do with contending for the championship? If he does for some reason end up missing the rest of the season, OFCOURSE that changes everything and we'll say that's why we couldn't contend, why wouldn't you? If the Spurs were without Tim and the Wolves without Garnett do you think their fans wouldn't say that was why? Haven't you noticed Sacramento saying "we didn't have C-Webb" referring to last year? Ofcourse injuries to stars change things, thats not using a "scapegoat." Dumb comment.

Instead of saying Kobe was injured during gameplay it'll be "If Ray hadn't of intentionally injured Kobe we woulda won it all"...thats the scapegoat I mean. I can hear it already. You know it's true that alot of the 'ignorant' fans will say that very thing. They never can accept the fact that things happen or the team just isn't as good as expected, there is always a scapegoat and an excuse... (by 'ignorant' fans I didn't imply all Laker fans were ignorant. But a vast majority of their fans are blind to the fact that sometimes the Lakers arent as good as portrayed)

I don't deny that he grabbed him purposely, and I am not going to defend Ray on that count. However, read over some of the replies in this thread, and you'll see a lot of people accusing Ray of deliberately doing it to injure Kobe. Do you honestly believe that? I'm not trying to cover Ray up at all, and of course I have complained about over the top physical defense on Ray before, but to insist that he deliberately tried to injure Kobe Bryant? That's not fair, especially for a guy with a great reputation on the court earnt by fair play his entire career.
