Hold on now, is that really SF making that last post. I've never seen you give any credit to Bledsoe.

I think maybe Bledsoe was a little overrated when he was at NE, and is a little underrated now (although he is not what he once was). I'll leave it at that at the risk of heading back into a Brady discussion that SF has already started...... [IMG]

I'm not going there Glenso. We both know how I feel about Bledsoe. Regardless of what the Pats did in '01.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Eagles4Life)</div><div class='quotemain'>More like INT Colts, First Down Eagles. You decide</div>

Mcnabb int % last season 2.3%
Manning int % last season 1.7%

    Mcnabb td % 3.3%
    Manning td % 5.1%

So i guess TD manning Int Mcnabb

Another Eagles fan is smacked down by the numbers.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Steelerfan_2004)</div><div class='quotemain'>It reminds me of the devotion Eagles fans have for McNabb. Both McNabb and Brady are winners, but neither are great physical QB's. McNabb is inaccurate and Brady has above average arm strength and accuracy outside of the hash marks and beyond 25 yards.

Watch how the Eagles and Pats fans scramble to respond to that. [IMG]</div>

Brady is a winner who not only plays w/in himself but the system much like Joe Montana. Favre, too, could be put in the same category as TB or JM.

It those athletic types who get all the praise & hype that are overrated - Plummer, McNabb, Vick.

I'd even take Bledsoe or Warner over one of these "athletes"

Plummers numbers passing the last two seasons are solid. He has learned to be a Qb under shanahan, like elway did. That is why shanahan is not going to be fired for a long time, he is ACTUALLY a offensive genius.

i love how every every every single discusion gets turned into McNabbs overrated. i love it

E4L, u gotta realize no1s changin their minds about him, they dont see what we see and thats why ive come to just let it go. when he gets co-mvp, and wins a SB, then maybe we can change their minds

and brady didnt win the AFC Championship game b4 the first SB, Bledsoe beat the Steelers in that game, so Brady is really 5-0 in the playoffs, and missed the playoffs one year.

I will call Mcnabb elite when he plays that way for 2 seasons, consecutively.

    Every discusion, Dawk?

Seriously; This is one of those few instances where if every one can see it then it must be true.

Lets be honest; Mobile, athletic QBs get more hype than they deserve. I will take Tom Brady, Peyton or even Drew Bledsoe over Vick, McNabb, etc...

BA, maybe the argument should be refined to saying whether McNabb is overrated by Eagles fans. There are some out there that think McNabb is great, but I continuously hear that McNabb is overrated. A bunch of people have to think he is great for him to be overrated. I think he is a good QB, but I don't think he is great....yet. I also don't think he is overrated in general. Maybe I'm wrong, but nobody on this site besides an Eagles fan thinks he is a great QB, therefore I would argue that he is probably accurately rated.

I consider him overrated by the sheer amount of publicity he gets. The commercial deals, the hype, the sports radio talk shows... the guy gets talked about more than he should for how average of a passer he is. Not to mention, he hasn't won the big game yet. The disappointing thing for them has to be how great some of their defenses have been and he still wasn't able to play consistently enough to win the "big game".

Not true. I have already said that if he keeps up this pace I will call him one of the elite QB's of the league. I guess I am with BearsFan on this one...I need to see more consistency rather than a flash of brilliance over 4 or 5 games.

I feel the same way about Culpepper. If he continues his incredible performances this year for the rest of the season, and carries it over into at least part of next season, then I will say that he is an elite QB but he's not there yet.

I often think of John Elway...would we consider him one of the greatest of all time if he hadn't won the Superbowl? His completion % was not that great, but you would be stupid to say Elway was overrated. What makes Elway an elite QB is the fact that he had that X factor. No QB had more 4th quarter wins.

McNabb doesn't need to win the Superbowl to be an elite QB. But if he doesn't win one, he'll have to become a lot better than he has been.
