I'm glad to see Stoudamire is attempting to take responsibility and clean up the stigmatism of the franchise and its players...I give him credit because he put his money where his mouth is, unlike Sammy Sosa...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damon Stoudamire took a drug test for a Portland newspaper columnist on Friday in an attempt to clear his name, the Oregonian reported Sunday.

As coach Maurice Cheeks held open the bathroom door, Stoudamire urinated in a cup, fulfilling an agreement he made five months ago with Oregonian columnist John Canzano. Last year, Stoudamire apologized to fans after being charged with possession of marijuana following a search at an airport.

"I did it because I have nothing to hide," Stoudamire told Canzano. "I didn't know you were going to test me [Friday]. You surprised me."

Stoudamire reportedly tested negative for five different drugs, including marijuana. According to the paper, marijuana can be detected if used up to 28 days prior to the test.

Stoudamire acknowledged that he expects to "catch hell" from the NBA Players Association over the unapproved test.</div>

Good For Damon.. He basically told the players union off.. I think clearing his name was a big thing, now people can look past his past drug problems instead of bashing him everytime hes mentioned...

I have much respect to what Damon did. And I congratulate him on trying to clean up his act. But I can understand why the players union would be upset. Thyey represent all the players in the league. And Media reporters shouldnt decide when players take drug test. But Damon shined a good light on the NBA. And the trailblazers in general.

Aww, good for him. This reminds me of the Isiah Rider interview on All-Star Weekend... anyone watch this. I felt so bad for him, I mena a grown man crying, you've gotta feel for someone like him. The Bulls should just take him... they don't have naything to lose haha.
