wow, I am surprised nobody has started this thread back up since the other boards closed down. Here is the deal, I make a statement and then you say either Fact or fiction. Then you say your own. I will start. A Eastern Conference team has a chance of knocking out one of the dominating teams in the West. Fact of Fiction
This is my first post in this kind of thread so be nice........ Anyways, I would say fact. Just because the Eastern conference as a whole is pathetic doesn't mean that the top teams in the east are. Indiana and Detroit both have a legitimate chance of knocking off a western powerhouse team. Especially with Detroit acquiring Sheed and Indiana showing that they're one of the toughest teams in the league, I'd say it'll be a pretty interesting nba finals the year. Darko Milicic will someday prove that he wasn't a bust in one of the better drafts we've seen in years. Fact or fiction?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Darko Milicic will someday prove that he wasn't a bust in one of the better drafts we've seen in years. Fact or fiction</div> Fiction. I personally dont see this guy getting any better then what he already is. He was doing his thing in his counrty's league. Buts I have a feeling that the NBA might be a little too much for him to handle. He might be a mediocre player at BEST in the near future. Will the East ever be the dominant conference? Fact or Fiction?
Of course they will, in likek 6-7 years though. Fact or Fiction: The Timberwolves will make the finals?
Fact, the Wolves have a great team this year who are determind to win. They hve already proven they can beat pretty much everyteam, they just need to keep up there agressive style of play. Fact or Fiction: Lakers will hold tough even with Kobe gone.
The Eastern Conference won't have a chance knocking out the Western Conference because it's a tremendous mismatch wen you look at the size advantages the West has over the East. With guys like Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Yao Ming, and others...it'll be one very tough challenge. Here goes my question.... Will Allen Iverson be traded sometime in the offseason? Fact or Fiction?
Fact, he has become a cancer in Philly, and Fact the Lakers will hold tough without Kobe for awhile, they just have to feed Shaq Fact or Fiction: Garnett is the best player in teh league hands down?(I think fact)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Q Rich3:</div><div class="quote_post">Fact, he has become a cancer in Philly, and Fact the Lakers will hold tough without Kobe for awhile, they just have to feed Shaq Fact or Fiction: Garnett is the best player in teh league hands down?(I think fact)</div> maybe not hands down, but Fact. He has the best numbers and he gets better year to year. hes a great leader, the only player to actually manage to get Cassell to practice like he means it, and Sam hasnt just played with losers, Hakeem, The Glove & Ray Allen to name a few. He works hard constantly, always adds new elements to his game, he is the best. The Indiana Pacers will make the Finals for the East. Fact or Fiction?
Fiction/maybe I dont think Idiana will make it all the way to the Finals the last few years they have been getting knocked out of the first round but if JO and Artest play at there best I would say maybe. But I see the Nets going back. Fact or Fiction:If the Cavs make the Playoffs will Lebron lead them pass the first round?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting choppa22:</div><div class="quote_post">Fact or Fiction:If the Cavs make the Playoffs will Lebron lead them pass the first round?</div> Fiction. If they make it, they'll probably be the seventh or eigth seed, which means they would have to beat the Pacers or the Nets to do that. Maybe next year. Fact or Fiction: A relatively high number of NBA players take steroids. Say, 5-10%
Fiction: There isn't enough incentive to become "huge" in the NBA. the NBA is a game of agility and speed. players are more concerned about quickness than overall strength. if 5-10% of the NBA looked like K. Malone or Mourning, then i'd think so. Fact or Fiction: The Sacramento Kings will win a championship within the next 5 years.
hmm.. Fact.. i could see them winning it all in the next 2 years, but remember that webber and other keys to their team are only gettin older Fact or Fiction: Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets will make it past the first round.
Fiction. The Sacramento Kings are chokers. They always end up with the #1 seed in the Western Conference, but they always find ways to lose and give stupid excuses to why they lose. In the next five years, you're going to see a lot more teams on the rise. And as long as the Lakers continue to be a dominant franchise, the Kings will definitely not win a championship anytime soon.
Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets won't make it past the first round this year, and their recent struggles right now tells the story. I feel Denver has been a terrific story, with what Jeff Bzdelik has accomplished with this team, but the fairytale will soon end in the first round.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BigMemo:</div><div class="quote_post">Fiction. And in a up & down, fast moving sport like basketball I dont think players are dumb enough to attempt try it. Baseball players get away with because it is more of a stand still sport. Fact or Fiction:The NBA should dump every all-star weekend event except the rookie/soph game?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Henacy:</div><div class="quote_post"> Fact or Fiction:The NBA should dump every all-star weekend event except the rookie/soph game?</div> Fiction. The 3-point shootout can still be entertaining, but they need more guys to participate in it (6 to 8 players, instead of just 4). I'd like to see them add another event, like HORSE or one-on-one. And they need to focus more on getting elite players to participate in the events (at least they should be on the Allstar ballot). Fact or Fiction: Karl Malone will retire without an NBA championship ring.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting durvasa:</div><div class="quote_post">Fact or Fiction: Karl Malone will retire without an NBA championship ring.</div> I'll say Fact but tentative. This is the season for Malone... this is Karl's best chance to get a ring this season, and it looks like the Laker dynasty isnt going to hold together for much longer with Kobe possibly leaving, and GP possibly opting out. Unless Karl can latch onto another championship team... I see this being his best chance at a ring. Fact or Fiction: Kobe will wear a Laker uniform on the court next season.
Fact. I don't see Malone and GP staying around because they are old, so Mitch Kupchack or whatever, won't let Kobe go. Fact or Fiction: Ron Artest is the defensive player of the year.
