<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NEW YORK, March 8 -- The Miami Heat's Lamar Odom and Houston Rockets' Yao Ming were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 1 through Sunday, March 7. Odom led the Heat to a 2-1 record this week, averaging 23.0 points, 13.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. His 30-point, 19-rebound, 11-assist triple-double against Sacramento marked just the third 30-15-10 game in the NBA since 1989 and only the fourth triple-double in Heat history. Yao led the Rockets to a 2-1 record during the week, recording wins over Minnesota and Dallas. Yao, leading the Rockets in points and rebounds in all three contests, led the Western Conference with 29.7 points per game for the week and reached 25 points in three consecutive games for the first time in his career. </div> Yao had a great week last week. Yao had 27, 29, and 33 points last week against the lakers,T-Wolves and Mavericks. Story
Yeah he did, but he still needs to working on his boarding though. If it wasn't for Najera, he probaly would have had 40 against the Mavs.
No one deserved it more than these two, Odom knocking in a triple double on the way to beating the Kings.
I agree with both of these guys regarding Yao and Odom. i would have to say that Yao is progressively developing and is going to break some record. His game looks like its coming too and he finally got a win over the kings. Look out for yao in the Playoffs if his team makes it healthy they and Yao should be a force.
Yao and Odom both of them deserve to win it this week.Odom's triple double against the Kings was phenomenal. He had a big man's triple double with 19 rebounds. He played great all week. And Yao,he is playing now like he should be.He is developping his skills right now and is improving but he might need to improve rebounding.A 7'6 foot player should get more than more than 8 rebounds a game.Other than that they both played great.
It's about time Heat players start getting the recognition they deserve, this is the second time in three weeks that a Heat player has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week .
