This is the 2nd time in the past 3 weeks that a Heat player has been awarded the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award in the past three weeks, this time it's Lamar Odom and he deserves it more than anyone. He beat out Rasheed, Jermaine O'Neal, Starbury, Kenny Thomas, Gilbert Arenas, and Mark Blount!
Quote:

NEW YORK, March 8 -- The Miami Heat's Lamar Odom and Houston Rockets' Yao Ming were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 1 through Sunday, March 7. Man those are some beastly averages, almost a triple double, I love it. 23.0 points, 13.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game Great weak by Odom and the Heat, but did you also see Yao, 29.7 points per game, good stuff by him too.
Odom definetly deserved it, averaging almost a TD thorugh the week. This gives the Heat more publicity and fame, as 2 players have recieved teh honour consecutively. Hopefully the rest of the team can step up jsut like Odom during our hunt for the playoffs.
