Heat @ Magic Preview! Its about time we start making previews for our games... just so people can get an idea of what to expect in the game. Here is the Heat.com preview: Last season, the Orlando Magic swept the regular season series with the Miami HEAT, taking all four meetings. Orlando has won five of the last 10 meetings between the two teams. This season Miami has won both match-ups, one home and one away. The HEAT took the first meeting this season 112-101 at the AmericanAirlines Arena when Miami dropped 40 points in the first quarter, currently that still stands as the season high. In the game, Eddie Jones poured in 33 points to lead Miami. Miami also recorded another victory over the Magic this season with a 111-98 victory at the TD Waterhouse Centre. In the game, Dwyane Wade recorded a double-double grabbing 10 rebounds and scoring a game-high 27 points. The HEAT leads the all-time series 32-25 with a 18-10 advantage at home. IMO I feel that the Heat can take this one with ease, as long as T-Mac is gaurded closely and doesn't get too out of hand then we can run away with this game easily. The magic are in a slump aswell as Mac.
I predict that Odom should have a awesome game today. The Heat will need to contain Tracy Mcgrady and not let him explode in this game. That will be the key to winning this game for the Heat. But they will need guard everyone else too.Sometimes when T-Mac doesn't play well, the other players do.So they should keep everyone guarded closely. But T-Mac might not play with a back problem.Drew Gooden will be questionnable for this game with a Leg Infection. So that might help the Heat.If they don't play,Juwan Howard will need to have a huge game today. If the Orlando want to have any chance of winning this one.
I didn't make a prediction before the game started, but I say the Heat will win by 8, right now its 30-26 Heat in the beginning of the 2nd. The Heat need to win this to get themselves in the playoff race, and from now on every game is important. WADE IS BACK
Odom is cold from the field. He's 0 for 6.But he has 5 rebounds and 4 assists.Juwan is playing pretty great right now.The Magics need to limit turnovers. They already have 7! They have a better fiel goal % but the Heat is leading by 8.
I say the Heat take this one in OT by 7. Just a randomized prediction from my head but i think Skip and Odom are gonna be the 4th quarter men for this game.
Heat win baby, they get into triple digits!!! Huge win baby, we're in the playoffs again and we're on a roll. We've got some easy games coming up soon too.
Heat win 100-89 vs. Magic Heat win this one 100-89. In the preview I said they would take this one easily and I was right. We contained T-Mac but Howard did pretty good. Big ups to Odom and Grant who played a great game both in double doubles. As well as R.Butler coming off the bench and getting 19. Jones with 19 also. Most importantly though, my man D-Wade is back!!! Playing limiited minutes though I see him starting next game and having a good game.
The Heat are now 28-36 and have 18 games left, and 10 on the road. Ahh stupid road games. This is what their schedule is. @ New Orleans Seattle New Jersey New Orleans Philadelphia @ Washington @ Orlando Dallas @ Indiana Chicago @ Atlanta @ Detroit @ Chicago Boston Cleveland @ Cleveland @ Boston New Jersey We only play a team over .500 7 times in all those games, New Orleans and New Jersey twice, and Detroit, Dallas and Indiana once.
What a great win last night, Rasual Butler is just spectacular. Rasual will be the aire to Eddie Jones' throne when EJ is gone sometime in the near future. He is just instant offense for the Heat coming off the bench, if you need points immediately, you put Rasual on the floor. I really liked Dwyane coming off the bench instead of starting. Skip has just been playing so well recently and ever since Dwyane was awarded the Eastern Conference Player of the Week, he has been in a slump. Rasual also has been playing fantastic coming off the bench and I feel he should be a starter as well, I can't remember where I read this but it's something like anytime Rasual comes off the bench and plays more than 20 minutes we are 7-1 over the past couple weeks. Caron has been in a sophmore slump all year, it doesn't matter if he played well LAST year, he isn't playing well this year and he shouldn't be a starter. Our starting lineup should be Brian, Lamar, Rasual, Eddie, and Skip with Dwyane, Caron, and Udonis coming off the bench. That is a perfect 8 man rotation and would benefit us most, it's just Stan probably feels that Dwyane, despite his recent slump is just too talented to sit on the bench. That sequence of plays beginning with a missed dunk from Dwyane and a successful dunk from Eddie was really funny, I couldn't stop laughing. Dwyane had another monster reverse dunk in the game, but like always, he was snubbed on NBA Fastbreak and the dunk of the night award went to another one of Stromile Swift's alley-oops, haven't we seen enough of them already? Both Rasual and Eddie had 19 points, however the kicker of this is Rasual played only 25 minutes. Lamar and Brian also both had 16 points with 13 and 10 boards respectively. Dwyane and Udonis also had 9 points each and both played 22 minutes coming off the bench, in that time Udonis had 7 boards and Dwyane had 2 steals, 2 assists, and 2 boards. Skip played a solid game with 8 points, 5 assists, 4 boards, 3 steals, and 2 blocks while turning the ball over 0 times. Very solid game for skip, however his 5 assists is not a good representation of how he played last night at all. Lamar spent his entire night at the free throw line, and almost everytime Lamar went to the free throw line it was off a quick pass from Skip when Lamar was driving, so if they counted assists when players went to the free throw line, Skip would have had at least 10+. Skip also did this hilarious street ball move, he got an offensibe board and was being guarded by one of the Magic's big men in the paint, I think it was Sean Rooks. Well Skip took the ball with both hands and did this fake pass just extending his arms and holding the ball and Sean Rooks looked the other way and got confused, it was very funny and Skip just easily layed it in. In the entire game, we turned the ball over only 7 times, and 4 of those turnovers came from Dwyane in his 22 minutes on the floor. Someone who has a 1:2 assist/turnover ratio should NOT be a point guard, or a starting one for that matter. Dwyane is a great player and probably the most talented player on the team, but he simply cannot take care of the ball. The thing in all of this is that in reality we played a pretty poor game shooting only 38.8% from the field as opposed to the Magic's 49.3% from the field, it's not often that you'll come out of games with a W when you shoot 38% and the other team shoots almost 50%, but hey it's the Magic, what do you expect.
First of all, Dwyane Wade is a better player then Eddie Jones. He isn't a natural PG so give him credit for all his TOs. He's a better SG then Eddie Jones so I think jones should come off the bench instead of Wade. Just cause he went into 1 slump doesn't mean he's abad player, Skip and Wade together in the backcourt would be just deadly. 2 quick smart players. Wade is a natural SG, and has never played PG in his life, that is why he has so many TO. Get facts straight man.

Until Dwyane comes out of this slump he's in, him coming off the bench is better for the team, plain and simple. Turning the ball over 10 times is inexcusable for any player in any position, and until he learns to take care of the ball better he should not be a starting PG or even come off the bench and play PG.
Alright, so we know Wade needs to work on his handles A LOT. Argument settled Now let's focus on beating New Orleans and getting 7th.
