Big Green are on a roll!

That makes 6 straight tonight after their victory over the Knicks, I was actually walking by The Garden today at around 7 AM, trying to see if a could maybe get a glimpse of Pierce. Im pretty happy with the way this team is pulling together, and the bench guys are stepping up their play big time. Pierce has obviously been in a slump, if you looked at Pierces stats during the past few games you would think... "And they have won 6 straight??". It is obviously because guys like Atkins, Blount, and Welsch are really kicking up their game and if you were low on Celtics Pride, it should be replenished by now. The team is playing like a team should play, hard working and together, when are leader is in a slump, we know we have guys to back him up. We are definitly not Championship fit yet but I think next year, or the year after, when our young guys having gotten really use to each other and kids like Welsch are dominate we can definitly be fit for a Championship. I don't think this streak is a fluke. Go Celts

    Ainge: Rebuilding Shows Potential

Now everyone knows Ainge has been taken alot of heat for his trades and his personal theory on how best to rebuild The Celtics franchise. However, given the recent 6 game winning streak, including a win over Minnesota at home where Pierce had perhaps his worst game of the season, is Ainge's master plan paying dividends sooner than expected?

Looking back to the HUGE win in Minnesota, Boston was led by their emerging talent, primarily Jiri Welsch. Danny Ainge's theory of stock piling young talent and draft picks has gone quite well and this win was an example. The younger players that Ainge has brought in, Jiri Welsch, Brandon Hunter, and Chris Mihm have been key in alot of Boston's success. They've shown flashes of brilliance and show remarkable potential. Factor that in with other young talent that are still considered projects, Marcus Banks and Kendrick Perkins, and you have a nice core of young talent to perhaps lead you in the future. Than you have a stock pile of draft picks, 4 first rounds and 3 second round selections in the next two years. On top of that Boston has a star to build around in perhaps a top 3 shooting guard in Paul Pierce.

A few other surprising occurances during Ainge's year has been the development of Mark Blount. He has impressed alot of people during Boston's current win streak, in The East he could be a great player at a lackluster center postion. Boston will also be getting back their other quality center next season in Raef LaFrentz who will be able to contribute upon his return. Another key player in Boston's current winning streak has been Chucky Atkins. Many people were strongly against the trade, but Atkins has played GREAT basketball since his arrival here in Boston and I believe his veteran leadership not only helps the ball club but it can help develop young Marcus Banks.

Boston shows great potential in my opinion, Ainge has a great feel for what direction the team should be heading in. Regardless of what people may say, that direction's certainly not DOWN!

Great posts, great run by the team, maybe they'll pull it out tonight against LA. They've absolutely exploded since Ainge comments about missing the playoffs. Even if they make the playoffs they'll still have two mid first round draft picks and one late round first round draft pick, they could probably trade two of them to move into the lottery.
