<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Golden State Warriors have activated forward Troy Murphy from the injured list prior to this evening?s game in Utah, General Manager Garry St. Jean announced today. In order to make room on the active roster for Murphy, the team also placed guard Speedy Claxton on the injured list with a fractured second metacarpal, right hand.
Murphy has missed the last 29 games due to a deep bone bruise and stress reaction in his left ankle, including the last 17 contests after being placed on the injured list on February 1. Prior to suffering the injury, he had returned to the active roster for the previous 11 games ? averaging 7.5 points and 6.1 rebounds in 20.6 minutes over that span. Overall this season, Murphy has missed 51 games due to injury, including the first 21 games of the campaign while on the injured list with a plantar fascia tear, right foot. </div>

We should really make sure he is healthy before he comes back. There is no point in rushing it especially with the way the season is going. I think it is important for him to get into as many games as possible but not enough to risk of getting injured again.

Maybe the warriors are trying to move him and get his value up for trading?

I hope Murphy becomes a blocking machine. I love blocks as much as I love dunks. They're awesome.

Just in the short time he played this year you can see the type of impact he can have. I love Murphy.

Well he got a block in Utah. Too bad he kept losing the handle. I could just see it coming. He kept bringing the ball out wide and up high.

I think he only mad 1 of 3 shots. The ones he missed all rimmed in and out. I'm guessing just rust at the moment.

Murph is a good shooter and he's big and tough rebounder. I was hoping our small forward could have been the lock down defender because Murph is kind of easy to beat. That's why I was thinking to put Cliff Robinson as the small forward. He's always guarding the other team's best player anyway, except for small guards.

I love Murphy. He's tough, he does not back down (remember the dunk on Dale Davis last year?), he's a solid outside shooter, and most importantly, he gets rebounds in traffic. Oh yeah, and he's locked up for the next 3 years. If there is one untouchable, he's it.

Yeah unlike Jrich and Dunleavy. They have to be dribbling first.

I sure hope Murphy has been concentrating on building up strength and bulk in his upper body while he has been injured for so long. All this time he has not been doing too much of the cardio so there is not reason why he could not have gained 10-15 just during the season alone. That would be huge for him if he were to play down low more often and become a better defender. Just imagine a big bulked up Murphy guarding people down low. I could see it.

^He probably has been working out his upper body when he was injured. After all, this guy's a workhorse.

We need boards in both categories, especially defensive rebounds. All that damn work defending the ball, forcing the other team miss a basket only to reset the shotclock by not securing the defensive rebound. Our power forwards just never get a body on anybody and our perimeter players are out of position for the long rebounds. Murph definitely provides in all those areas for the team.
