<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Can the Minnesota Timberwolves get out of the first round of the playoffs despite having Kevin Garnett? Got your attention with that one, eh? Now don't misunderstand. Garnett is the best all-around player in the NBA today. He'll get my vote for Most Valuable Player and it would be astonishing if he didn't win the award now that Hedo Turkoglu is carrying the San Antonio Spurs. But there's this little issue with KG: He's too good of a basketball player. What I mean by that is Garnett plays the game just about perfectly. He moves the ball and himself. He plays hard and he's unselfish. He believes in the team. You don't necessarily win championships that way. Sometimes, you have to be like Michael Jordan, Isiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant -- a little bit of a jerk, a little selfish, a little willing to tell everyone to get out of your damn way because you're going to the basket and they can meet you at the free-throw line. Garnett doesn't do</div> Full Story By Sam Smith
Well, I am a little worried, but I am more confident this year than any that we can get out of the first round. But there is good money on them for getting out of the first round this year.
Hmmm..I kinda feel sorry for this guy..He does try and he is a great player..But i think thats the mentality he got to have..He got to be a bit cocky and want that ball and want to get to the free-throw line and also tll everyone to get out the way..Peace!
KG is one of the best players in the league. He is unselfish and plays hard but he is the team's leader.Leaders are usually a bit selfish. He has to lead the team to victories and sometimes that means you need to have the ball and go to the line more.He likes to pass the ball. He's not afraid to take a big shot, but he is trained to look for teammates and share the ball. When playoffs come he will need to be a bit more like that if he wants the wolves to get pass the 1st round this year. But right now they are in a slump. They are losing games right now. That will also have to change if they want to be Championship contenders

Of course you have to share the ball during games but he must know when to take over. There will be times when he needs to carry the team on his shoulders on his own. When it does happen, demand for the ball and ask everyone to get the hell out of his way.

Of course, when you have a clutch shooter like Sam in your team, I think KG shouldn't shoulder the entire burden. Cassell is a very smart player, especially in clutch situations, and it would therefore be naive for KG to monopolize the ball at the end of games. Look at Shaq: he is not the one the ball goes to at the end of games, and in the past four years, the Lakers can be said to have done fairly well.
Can't find the stats know, but I remember KG is one of the leading men in the crunch stats because he does so many other things apart from scoring: rebounding, blocking, stealing, and the right decisions, means assists. But the article is right, his career high is just 40 points and I believe he would be able to drop more than that but he's just to unselfish.

He tries too hard, you cannot never ask too much of him. He just wants to win so badly, too damn good too. It's just the fact that there is so much burden on the line. Being the unselfish and awesome player that he is might cause some problems or bad luck in the playoffs, but I think it'll work out. He's too good to not succeed, he deserves it too much, plus he has some real reliable people by his side, including Saunders.
No one deserves it..You have yo work for it..Sure he averages 20/10/5 but that don't mean he deserves it..If he wants to win then et him take the shot..And stop getting scared!
He's not scared. I mean, would you really want the guy to score more than 40 points and sacrifice his rebounds in the process? There's a reason why he's averaging that high in assists. It's because he's unselfish and actually believes in his team too much. He's a clutch player but he needs to do it more during the playoffs. The regular season games are KG time, Spree time, Sam time and sometimes Hudson time. When it comes to the playoffs, KG time all the time baby. With the help of the other sick 5 of course.
