With the Warriors biting the dust, is there another team you enjoy watching? I must admit I like watching the Lakers and the Kings play. They pass the ball with a minimum of post up stand around play. I think people have this myth that all Shaq does is post up and turn and dunk when the reality is that out of all the post players in the league he moves the most. He is constantly circling around and he usually gets the ball on the move which makes him devastating and extremely hard to double. The Kings are simply pretty to watch. They play high post basketball with cutters off the ball. I love that with Peja and Bibby running off weak side screens. The rest of the league plays lame dribble, dribble, dump down into post, wait for double team kick out basketball. (Admittedly overgeneralization.)
I don't root for the other teams, but the Kings are enjoyable to watch. Just great passing from everyone on that team. But since I don't have NBAtv, I'll watch any game that is on ESPN/ABC/Fox Sports. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I don't pick favorites for college basketball either and will watch any team on the tv.
I like watching the Lakers, particularly because I'm a Kobe fan and I love the smoothness of his game combined with the power of Shaq's.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">I love watching the kings play without a doubt. They show what team basketball is all about.</div> Basketball is not all about offense. Look at great defensive teams like Houston(ooh, I love saying that.) play and win and you'll see why.
I don't really watch other teams, but the teams that I find entertaining are the kings, mavs. Also I think the nuggets are sort of entertaining but I haven't seen many of their games to make a judgment. Another team I think they should show more is the Grizzlies, I just like how they play having ten guys play and the way they play D
I love watching the Spurs. People will say that the Spurs are boring, but i really enjoy watching them play. I love watching Duncan dominate. And i love watching Parker and Ginoboli do their things on the court. I love the way they play and their attitudes toward their production. Players like Parker and Ginoboli could be a little frusterated playing under the Spurs system that is based around Duncan and a system that outputs low scores, which would give both Parker and Manu smaller stats. However Manu and Parker don't get stat-goals in their mind that they'd will have to make going into games. To Manu and Parker it's all about winning. I love how those two, in Parker and Ginoboli, and also with Bowen and the rest of the game it's all about winning and trying to do whatever is needed to add to the offense with Duncan, and to also play superb defense. The Spurs might not have players with super stats(not even Duncan puts up the best numbers) but they are all HUGE IMPACT players. I think the Warriors have two of those types of impact players in Speedy and Pietrus and even Clifford is an impact player in my mind. I think that Murphy and JRich are close. And I am hoping the rest of the roster develops this type of ability and this team can become a playoff team possibly. This upcoming draft is going to be HUGE.
Mavericks (Steve Nash), Rockets (Yao), Lakers(the super lakers), T-wolves (Mark Madsen & KG!). Those are the most exciting teams to watch. Not the Lakers so much anymore with all those injury and off the court problems, but the beginning of the season they were toying with other teams.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">That's what I'm saying. Steve, as of now, is making the shots he takes, so I wouldn't mind if Yao gets only 11 shots a night, as long as Franchise makes up for the void.
I'm Laker fan, and because I don't get too see my favorite Western Conference teams on T.V. all the time since I live near Boston, I find myself watching a lot of Celtics games. Luckily, on some National TV stations, I enjoy watching the T- Wolves and the Rockets a lot.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Basketball is not all about offense. Houston should focus on staying more consistent.
Notice how all the hot teams right now have shooting guards that can just flat out play defense. Kobe, Christie, Spree/Hassell, Artest, Bruce Bowen, I'm almost thinking of dumping Richardson, Dunleavy for an upgrade at the small forward spot, start Pietrus at shooting guard, then keep murphy, dampier and then sign a new backup bigger point guard to eventually take over at the starting spot for when Speedy starts to lose his speed in a couple of years.
No way we can dump J-Rich. Not only do I not see the point of it, but do we really need to let another franchise player go?
Can he really improve on his defense/ball handling to be a playoff shooting guard though? Otherwise I just don't see him being a "franchise" player. And I know he'll ask for a lot of money. And I wouldn't overpay him in the same way that we overpaid Jamison, another all scoring, no defense guy. I guess I should give Richardson the benefit of the doubt in being able to improve his handles/mid-range shot and defense a lot from last year. But how much more can he go? Plus it's his basketball IQ that sometimes bewilders me. He is just so out of control.
Sacromento Kings, they can put on a show and shoot 3-pointers, besides doing so well, they almost always come back if down so many points.

I don't think we need to let go of J-rich though. We have Pietrus, who's emerging as a great defender. We can always adjust our lineups based on the teams we're playing and their best players. Like rudeezy said, no need in dumping another franchise player (and one with a LOT of promise).

He and Claxton would be a really tough matchup because they move so quick laterally and get stay on their man close. Now if Dunleavy can be a sure shot I wouldn't mind setting up plays for him. The only problem now is that Pietrus is out of control too so he's not offense ready yet either unless you give him time. So basically the scoring would come from a lot of penetration by Speedy, open jump shots by Murph and Dunleavy, and Down low with Dampier. The other good thing about being a good defensive team is that you can convert it to easy fast break points much like Sacramento and the Nets do.
