<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Corie Blount was in attendance on Wednesday when Cleveland Cavaliers' Zydrunas Ilgauskas abused the Raptors in the paint.

Blount noticed how undersized and overmatched the Raptors were and figured he could help.

How much he can help remains to be seen but Blount's toughness, rebounding and ability to defend can't hurt.

"I'm a veteran guy and I can make a difference,'' Blount said as he officially became a Raptor yesterday and took part in his first practice.

"I'll defend, rebound and guard other big guys. I know the guys here and hopefully I can help them make the playoffs."

Blount is an 11-year veteran who joins his seventh team.

If the Raptors are able to make the post-season, Blount won't be eligible, a twist that doesn't bother him.

When he was released by the Bulls on March 2, he missed by one day the cut-off point for post-season eligibility. </div>

From what I have heard, this guy has a decent midrange jumper, he can bang down low and get dirty with the best of them. Hopefully he doesn't use his jumper too much like the rest of the Raptors

Oh no, I was really hoping hte Bulls would resign Blount. Ever since he got waived, everything has gone downhill for them. Bulls management sucks, the Bulls are turning into an NBDL team. I want Corie back, I hope the Raptors don't sign him. Bulls team morale went down when he left... mine did too.

This is will definately help the Raptors in our playoffs race this year. One question though, how's our starting lineup gonna look like?

My guess is that for now, until AW and Rose come back, it will look like this:
    PG - Strickland
    SG - Carter
    SF - Marshall
    PF - Bosh
    C - Blount

Actually Blount won't be able to play in the playoffs if we do make it. The Bulls waited until a day after to release him. What tight-asses

The Raptors need a player who won't take any sh!t from any players. A bad ass like Charles Oakley who would knock someone on their ass if they came into the lane and dive for loose balls anywhere on the court. I really hope Blount can provide that for us. I'm also counting on his veteran experience as well to help the Raptors

Is it me or does it seem like we're just picking up guys that Chicago are willing to dish out? That kind of scares me seeing how the Bulls are arguably the worst team in the league. I mean, if it wasn't for Baxter leaving, then almost half of our active players were on the bulls at the start of the season.

I just read about that in another article in the Toronto Star. Its kind of sad that the Bulls are losing with these players and we are just picking them up. But some of the players we did pick up (Marshall and Baxter) were under utilized by the Bulls to some extent and were not able to show what they were capable of.

Hopefully the Raps can max out Blounts potential better than Chicago did.

I wish we got both Blount & Strick a couple of yrs ago...we would've been so solid.

Why do you say that? I don't even see how solid we are right now.

Cause they would've been younger a few years ago and would probably have helped more I guess. Especially Rod since we've always needed a real PG (not always but most of the time)

The fact is: We don't know how well they are going to help us right now. Rod Strickland has had good games for the Raptors and Blount hasn't played a minute yet. Until we start winning games, I wouln't give them too much praise

    funny quote:

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pain for Palacio

A swollen left knee has Milt Palacio on the injured list.

"I've been playing with it for two weeks and it got to the point where I simply can't help our team,'' Palacio said. </div>

Has he actually ever helped the team?

He helped us dwindle down the shot clock with his indecisiveness. He also helped us by having an awful mid range jumper (which of course he still shoots even though its a horrible brick every time)

This is guy is not even an acceptable backup point guard IMO

Thats what I say, yet some people still support that he pushes the ball and drives. I don't care if he pushes the ball then dribbles off his own foot and causes a turnover, or is so terrified when players double team him he starts doing retarded things, or he drives and passes to the refs.

Or with the clock running down Carter drives dishes to an open man on the outside (the man is Palacio) the with 3 secs left Palacio swings the ball to a player that is less open for a highly contested shot.

Its also nice how we can't post up our players because teams sag so much off Palacio, or how its extremely hard for VC to drive because Palcio's man doesn't even bother about him and just DT's VC.

I like the fact that Blount has stated that he really wants this team. I heard he will serve as a backup to Marshall and Bosh, this was a pretty good pickup considering that Zydrunas absolutely killed us on Wednesday, hopefully Blount can help us with those matchups.

Its such a good pickup when i saw blount with the bulls i thought he was a real good shooter around the key and on both sides at the 3pointer. I believe he can help us a lot... if he's fit
