Since we are getting down to the end of the season who would you rather see the Twolves play. Houston Denver or Memphis? If I had to choose I would say Memphis, they are young and inexperienced and I would like to see KG beat up on Pau alittle bit. that and I think it would be a good opening round series. whats your guys thoughts
I would want to play Denver out of those three teams. But we usually don't get to choose, so I will say we will play Houston.
You would want to face Memphis? I feel you may be alone with that opinion. No one wants to face that team come playoff time, I don't buy the "no experence" crap They have some vets that have had good playoff experience along with some very good young talents. They are 10 deep, never get tired. Thats dangerous.
Of the three, I'd pick Denver. Houston has that suffocating "D" that makes it hard to score. If you get Ming in foul trouble, you have a shot. The Grizzlies are on fire for Hubie and are trying to get him coach of the year. Pau has proven that he can be a first option, but it's there role players that keep them going. Denver has scorers, but of the three, they don't seem to running on all cylinders (at this time) and IMO, they aren't really looking to make it past the first-round (assuming they can hold their place). There's alot of disarray in the organization (which is surprising even though they have a better record) and don't seem to have as much to lose.
Memphis has the BEST record in the NBA since the all star break, I believe they're 11 and 3. They should be the last team you would want to face. I think pretty much everyone is going to choose Denver, they may be able to pull off a lucky win or two, but they won't be able to survive a series.
This is pretty much a no doubt, you want Denver. The Rockets are a horrible match for the Wolves imo. Yao Ming has already proven to be to much for the Wolves inside even KG. And Steve Francis has matched Sam output in their matchups already this season .And can match Sam in a seven game(based on talent). That takes away the edge at the 2 best positions. To beat the Rockets the wolves bench is going to really have to step up. And the Wolves bench have been very inconsistent this season. I think the Wolves can beat the Grizz, but who ever plays them in the 1st round is going to be in for an extremely long 6 or 7 games. They have serious depth, And they ware teams down. I dont think you want to p[lay that type of series in the 1st round. Even if you win its going to take alot out of you, so teams just want to avoid them. Nobody said Portland, but they are another horrible matchup for the wolves because they have so much size. And talent in the front court. I dont think the Wolves can have the rebounding edge or points in the paint edge vs them. Thats just asking for a loss. In a series with them, the Wolves are going to be strickly a jumpshooting team(even more than they already are). That leaves Denver, there young, their Defense is shakey. Their best scoring option can be contained by your best perimeter defender(Melo/Hassell). The Nuggets dont get alot of points from their Bigmen, something that always gives the Wolves problems. They seem to make alot of bad decisions down the stretch of close games. Meanwhile the Wolves have some of the best decision makers in the clutch. A series with them would go no more than 5 games. But back to reality, the wolves are going to more than likely play the Rockets. Their are going to be times during that series where the Rockets arent going to have any idea of how to produce points on the offsensive end. It seems like they have at least one horrible stretch a game for like 4 or 5 mintues. This is when the Wolves are going to have to jump on them. Right now I think the Wolves win in a extremely difficult 6 games series vs the Rockets.
I would want Denver, because they are also relatively youg, and don't have too much playoff experience on their team. Its probably going to be Houston, and they can be a problem b/c of the all mighty Yao.

I have a better question. Before I start I dont want anyone to jump down gun. I not trying to offend timberwolves fans. I have been routing for Sam, KG,& the rest of the bunch all season long. But this is a serious question. If you where the timberwolves would you let the Spurs have the 1st seed? Reason #1.I know I said in an earlier post that you want Denver but that was before the last matchup with Denver. Its not the Nuggets that worry me, its playin in Denver that worry me. They say that energy wise Denver is the hardest arena to play in cause of the denver altuide. They say come 4th quarter it is extremely hard to breath running up & down the court. Now the Wolves are 1-1 in denver which is not bad.but the way the older timberwolves like (Sam, Spree,EJ) was horrible. In the 1st match Spree & Sam went 15-41 from the field. And it was reported during the pregame of the next game against the warriors, that Cassell had problems breathing in the 2nd half in Denver. Could that have been because of the Altiude in Denver? I dont know but I know the Altiude combined with Sammy & Spree's age.It just isnt a good mix. And in the 2nd game in Denver which the Wolves lost. Spree & Sam combined to shoot 7 for 26 from the fleid. Now we all know that Sam & Spree have had their ups& down this season. But 22-67 in two games is even a little to horrible for those 2 on thier off days. I think playing in Denver had something to do with their performance. I not saying that the Wolves wont beat the Nuggets. But they maybe extremely tired. And may use to much energy to do it.Which may cost them in the later rounds.
It's settled. We're facing the Nuggets in what will be a first round sweep for our T'Wolves. After watching tonight's game against Memphis & watching how our BENCH outclassd their starters, I don't see what the big deal is about meeting them in the playoffs. Quite frankly, we're playing so well & focusing on defense so much that it's hard picturing the Nuggets or Kings beating us in a best of 7. Kandi & KG are a 2 man human wall inside defensively, Kandi's rebounding has been strong & consistent for about a month now (especially on the offensive glass), the defense has held teams to about 35-40 % shooting for about that same month. No one's got an answer for KG, Sam or Wally, either. With Kandi & Mad Dog getting a bunch of offensive rebounds in addition to the Big Four's shooting, it just puts that much more pressure on the opponent's defense. Our bench is playing so well that I'd gladly run them out there against all but the elite teams in the Best Conference. With the T'Wolves & Lakers winning their divisions, that means the Spurs will have homecourt advantage against the Lakers in the 2nd round because they had the better record. Call me crazy but I love how things are setting up for our T'Wolves.
i think your crazy to think that its just falling into their hands. They will have to play hard, even against Denver. But that doesn't mean i think that they are going to lose 4 games any time soon.

That's a given with KG, Spree, Mad Dog & Sammie C in the lineup. I'm simply saying that they'll play hardnosed, focused ball, they'll outwork people on the boards & defend with the ferocity that they've displayed the last month. I'm not thinking it's something we can just show up & expect our opponent to just give up. I'm just basing my predictions on the play of our team over the past month, where they started punching teams in the face early & never letting them up again.
