I am not surprised that the Rockets lost. What I am surprised of is the fact that Yao almost had a 30-20 game and we let Phoenix beat us? In OT? After blowing a 21-point lead? It's insane. The Rockets need to know how to finish teams off early, not blow leads in the 2nd half. And the 27 turnovers have to be cut down as well. Shot clock management is also crucial.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jeff Van Gundy has to take the blame for the loss to the Suns on Monday. In regular time with only 10.9 seconds left to play and the Rockets up by three, Van Gundy has to tell the team to foul. Instead of fouling the Suns and putting them to the line for only two they let them get a good look at a three-pointer, which ties the game. If you foul, the Rockets get the ball back and the Suns would have been forced to foul the Rockets.

This is something we overlooked. There is another point where it would have been wiser to foul.

VG was not to blame. Rocket did not get a chance to foul. The 1st guy passed to 2nd guy, who took an aim then passed back to 1st guy. The defender of the 1st guy backed off because he thought 2nd guy was going to shoot. That's just players' mental judgement.

Except Yao, Rocket was not there to play last night. Sun was more hungerier and wanted more for the game. You can see it in their body language.

Jim Jackson contributed marvelously. We should have fouled the Suns right when they inbounded the ball, not let them look for the right chance to score, which they did on the Marion three.
