Tim Won't Play Tonight! http://www.nba.com/games/20040315/SASGSW/preview.html Tim Duncan will sit out for the ninth time in San Antonio's last 10 games, resting his left quadricepts when the Spurs visit the Golden State Warriors on Monday. Manu Ginobili and the Spurs are 5-3 without Duncan during the All-Star's recent injury troubles. D. Clarke Evans/NBAE/Getty Images The Warriors have dropped nine consecutive contests -- their longest skid since dropping 10 straight from March 9-24, 2002. They have lost at least nine in a row eight times in the last seven seasons. On Sunday, the Warriors came up short at New Orleans, 102-84, after allowing the Hornets to shoot 56 percent. Jason Richardson scored 18 points and Troy Murphy added 15 and nine rebounds for the Warriors, but forward Mike Dunleavy, who has been seeing time at the point during the absence of the injured Nick Van Exel and Speedy Claxton, had just five points. The Spurs are coming off a 101-87 setback at Western Conference-leading Sacramento on Sunday. Manu Ginobili scored 16 points and Rasho Nesterovic added 14 and 13 rebounds for the Spurs, who allowed the Kings to make half their shots. San Antonio fell to 5-3 without Duncan. The Warriors have lost 23 of the last 26 meetings with the Spurs, including a 99-74 blowout defeat at San Antonio on Friday. Golden State beat the Spurs here, 91-89, on Nov. 29, but trail the season series, 2-1.
Malik Rose is also out tonight I believe, injuries has been a huge problem for the Spurs this year. Had Duncan been heathly I have no doubt in my mind that S.A would be the number 2 seed right about now, with Minny struggling the chance has been there.
I still think we can stay in for that 3rd seed..We are going to need rasho to be monster on the boards...And i wan't to see tony get the guys involved..I think we should use the denver style game tonight..Run easy transition baskets..With Tim gone..There is no REAL go to guy..And it seems parker gets lost when tim isn't there to bail them out..I say we get a big lead and played SOLID defense in the 4th..Thats what is going to get us this win!
Parker needs to act like the Spurs are his team, I don't think he realises this is the prefect chance for him to prove to the world how good a player he can be. This game is on TNT, I will watch but I can't say It will excite me.
Tonight's just not the night for Texas. Both Spurs and Rockets were facing the bottom rung of the Western ladder and both lost. Injuries had to do with both losses. No big deal. Spurs are still going to dominate in the postseason because of their D. Rockets need to hit a nerve of Yao's and get him dunking. Get angry Yao. Get angry.
LOL...And yes i agree that tony has got to shoulder this team and play like every game is his last untill tim comes back..And then still carry on playing like that!
